Found December 09, 2011 on Celtics 24/7:

Take a break from the rumor-mill that resembles a high school romantic comedy and focus on the new faces (thus far) of the Boston Celtics. I hope we have not forgotten that the reason we do not need to trade for a high profile player is due to the fact that we already have four. Every offseason is not about acquiring huge names, instead it should focus on finding the right pieces (a la Dallas Mavericks) to take on the other benches around the league. With a very small circle of quality players to choose from the bench is beginning to take form.

Marquis Daniels, SG/SF, 6’6″, 30 years old

We all know what ‘Quis is capable of. He’s a solid utility swingman who won’t score more than three or four baskets but, when healthy, gives positive minutes on the defensive and team-play end of the court. He fits into the plan and that’s a huge plus.

Keyon Dooling,  G,  6’3″, 31 years old

Another veteran, Dooling averages just around 7 points and 3 assists per game. He played in 80 games for the Bucks last year and much like Daniels, is a team-player who understands the game. You can see the pattern Danny is forming. Acquire guys who know their roles and how to contribute to a team. Dooling also shoots well from the free-throw line, which given the Celtics offensive woes, is also a good thing.

Brandon Bass, PF, 6’8″, 26 years old

In a sign-and-trade for Glen Davis the Celtics acquired Brandon Bass from the Orlando Magic. Now, I don’t know if there are any other two players in the league who are as similar as Bass and Davis are. Both LSU grads, both undersized power forwards, both averaging 11 points and 5-plus rebounds per game. No, seriously, they could not be closer to the same person.

The first player is Glen Davis.

I love this pick-up for the Celtics. Brandon Bass is much bigger, in better shape and playing next to Kevin Garnett could prove to be the best part of his career yet. He is incredibly physical and fights for rebounds. Not much of a charge taker but his physicality is a huge plus for the Celtics. I have been watching the Magic for some time and they are a better team with Bass on the court. Great trade and better for Boston than Orlando.

The bench is (tentatively) as follows:

Guards: Keyon Dooling, Avery Bradley, E’Twaun Moore. Barring a Delonte West or Von Wafer return, Moore and Bradley could be knocked lower on the depth chart. Moore will probably see very little playing time this year, regardless.

Forwards: Jeff Green (RFA), Brandon Bass, Marquis Daniels, JaJuan Johnson. That’s pretty solid if you ask me. Deep, on the younger-side and athletic.

Centers: Oh. Moving on.

Fair to say Danny has been trying with very limited cap room and a league who’s best players are just outrageously overpaid and unaffordable. All we need is ONE capable center to make sure Garnett doesn’t have to play that position too often and Jermaine O’Neal doesn’t break in half.
