Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
Six of the SI Writers make their picks for Eastern and Western Conference Champs along with NBA Champion. No love for the Celtics at all. Kind of reminds me of the ESPN Predictions in 2008 where all but Tim Legler picked the Lakers to beat the Celtics. Here are the SI picks.
Only two people expect the Celtics to even make it to the ECF. The Pacers? The Knicks????? It's like the Celtics are the Rodney Dangerfield of the NBA. More bulletin board material for Doc. The more this team is disrespected the more they are going to be motivated. I'd rather come in as the underdog because everyone is gunning for the Heat and the Celtics will just take everyone by surprise. [Discuss on CG Forums!]

In a move that surprised no one (except maybe for the timing of the announcement), the Celtics have exercised the fourth year option on Avery Bradley’s contract.
From the press release:
Bradley, a 6’2” guard, had a breakout season during the 2011-12 season recording career highs in virtually every statistical category. Bradley averaged 7.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists...
For the first time in team history, it seems the Boston Celtics will have two legitimate candidates for NBA Sixth Man of the Year in Jason Terry (a former winner) and Jeff Green. Both will come off the bench, both will get plenty of minutes, and both will seemingly get some votes. But who has the upper hand in this battle?
Jeff Green looks like he will have a career year. Hes shooting...
Actor/Comedian Chris Tucker stopped by the Garden today for the Celtics open practice. Tucker is in town for comedy show at the Wilbur tonight. Tucker sat courtside with Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca. He was also wearing a fresh pair Rogue Green Nike Durant KD IV’s. Tucker appeared to have a great time. He interacted with fans through out the practice. I swear I heard him...
When Kevin Garnett loses in the NBA postseason, I imagine he locks himself in a 4 x 12 room, transforms into something resembling the Incredible Hulk, except harrier, howls at the moon continuously, and drinks nothing but V8 juice all summer just so he can feel as much pain as possible.Given how much he loathes his opponents (remember, he deleted Ray Allen’s phone number this summer...
As Walsh mentioned earlier, the Celtics to Remain in Locker Room for Ring Ceremony. Doc breaks down how the ring ceremony won't really effect the Celtics pre-game routine.
FRIEND TO FOE
Tweet During the NBA offseason, former Boston Celtic Ray Allen passed on a more lucrative offer from the Celtics to sign with the Miami Heat, the Celtics biggest rivals in recent years. Kevin Garnett wasn’t pleased with Allen’s decision and had no problem with voicing his opinion. In Tuesday’s season opener with the Celtics facing the [...]
On this day today (October 29th in 2010), Rajon Rondo had the second most assists in a game ever by a Celtic with 24 (Bob Cousy had 28 in a game in 1959), in a win over the New York Knicks. Rondo had a triple double (10 rebounds and 10 points) and he also had as many assists as the entire opposing Knicks team. One of his better performances. Do you remember this? This...
I know it’s October, but I expected so much more from the Celtics. After all the talk about the Heat and Ray Allen, I expected the defensive intensity to be there. It wasn’t. And the Heat rolled 120-107.
LeBron James had 26 points in 29 minutes. If he doesn’t sit out most of the 4th quarter with leg cramps, Miami wins this game by 25. Ray Allen played to his ceiling (19 points...
Here is a look at the local media contingent that follows the BOSTON CELTICS. Newspaper- Many newspaper outlets cover the Celtics, but the two biggest names are the Boston Globe (subscription may be required) and the Boston Herald. The Globe online is handled through Boston.com. The paper’s sports section includes a page dedicated to the Celtics.
The Celtics opened up their 2012-2013 NBA Season against the rival Heat on Tuesday night. Coming in the game was filled with storylines such as; a rematch of the Eastern Conference final, Celtics vs. Ray Allen, and the crowning of the King. All of these aspects played a big part in the game as emotions were high.
The game got off to a quick start with high energy and back and forth...
With Opening Day just a few hours away, I decided to post an introspective look into my being a Celtics fan in another country. Hope it satiates the hunger for a bit while waiting for the 2012-2013 season.
There is something special about being a Celtics fan. Maybe it’s
the rich history, or the championship banners, the legendary Celtic pride,
Ubuntu or all of them. I really...
If you've been reading this blog for any amount of time you probably already know that I don't give a damn about what "experts" like the alleged one's at ESPN think. It's not that I think that they are "haters" (most played out word that needs to be retired), it's just that their opinion doesn't matter. You know whose predictions matters...
Boston Celtics (0-0) vs. Miami Heat (0-0)
Tonight's game of the night is the grudge match to end all grudge matches. Kevin Garnett gets to meet up with his old friend Ray Allen and the Heat and the Celtics renew their rivalry.
Oh, and Miami is getting its rings for winning the championship.
What could possibly go wrong with Kevin Garnett foaming...
The super-deep Celtics team that is supposed to create
matchup problems and push the Miami Heat for Eastern Conference supremacy never
showed up. If this was the best the Celtics have to throw at the defending
champions, then the team in green is in trouble.
This is not the final product for the Celtics, however, and
one uneven night in October will not doom their season on...
