Found November 04, 2012 on Celtics Life:
My sister and I with a pair of Rondo's game shoes! I was lucky enough to attend the game last night in DC. I went with my mom and sister and had awesome seats about 10 rows up. This gave me a chance to really watch the Celtics up close and personal, and what I saw was a team that is still working on finding its identity.  The Wizards are a terrible basketball team. I said before the game that if we didn't win by 25+ it would be a disappointment. In retrospect it kind of makes sense that they played so lackadaisical. They were on the 2nd game of a back to back, were coming off a depressing loss in their home opener, and were playing a bad team missing its two best players. Letdown city. I think the issue here are the new guys figuring out their roles. Jeff Green probably will never be as good as I or any of us hoped, but I think he will be better than he has shown so far. It is all about confidence with him. He needs to believe he can be great. As far as Jason Terry goes...

It's not easy wearing the green

The Celtics are very fortunate to have a few days off after the debacle in D.C that resulted in their first win of the season.  The lads in green are starting to realize that it takes more to win than just putting on a Celtic jersey. The Celtics are all saying the right things, that they are a work in progress. As we all are I dare say.  However it is more than that.  If you...

Jason Terry wears opponents clothes to bed prior to every game

Boston Celtics guard Jason Terry  has ‘some’ of the weirder superstitions in the league. Terry explains his superstitions in his blog for ESPN,in fact he has made one of them public (see above). ‘Some’ being the important word in the previous sentence, Terry has a few… * Jason will ALWAYS eat chicken before a game. * He ALWAYS wears 5 pairs of socks…..FIVE!! *...

4 reasons Jet is still taxiing

I love Jason Terry. I've shared my excitement for his signing numerous times on this blog. Yet for the past 3 games, former 6th man of the year hasn't been able to live up to the hype, which is perfectly in line with the team's story overall. Of course the Celtics are going to solve their problems and get better as they find chemistry/identity/Ubuntu/hyena spirit, but...

Jason Terry Takes Lack of Bench Production Upon Himself And Other Impressions From Celtics' Loss to Bucks

BOSTON -- Jason Terry asked to be held accountable. He wanted to be the one held responsible for the Celtics' bench, good or bad, and on Friday it was time to stand up and bear the type of punishment he claimed he would take. In both of the Celtics' losses to open this season, Boston's bench was outscored by its counterpart on the opposing team. After...

Celtics Minute and Practice Update

In the Celtics Minute, Doc and Jason Terry discuss the need for more consistency and for hard work to get the Celtics to where they want to be. Doc stressed the need for hard work, "Being a good team takes work. You don't just show up, and because you've got good names on paper, and be good." Doc closed today's practice with conditioning drills as part of...

Tale of Two Guards: Rajon Rondo and Jason Terry

The stage is set for another successful season out of the Boston Celtics, a team that’s managed to round out its roster with some younger pieces, yet still was able to maintain its veteran core. Rajon Rondo, while still only 26 years old, has become a part of that core, as he’s teamed up with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to give the Celtics a Big Three over the past few seasons...

Celtics survive Wizards (barely) 89-86

Well that was better, I guess.  The Celtics survived a nail-biter against the Washington Wizards (WITHOUT John Wall and Nene) after they blew a sizable lead. But I’ll TRY to be positive and accept our first win of the season on the second night of a back-to-back, and chalk it up to the Celtics playing down to inferior competition. Let’s get to the recap:Sullinger got the...

Celtics win ugly, beating Wizards reserves by 3

(We had a late scratch for the recap, but longtime reader Jenda has stepped in with a guest recap). Let's start with bad news. The first quarter was a fluke. Randy Wittman and his assistants still have to gel together as a coaching staff and they take a little longer to get into the game. They did so in second quarter and outscored the Celts 30-23. Most damage was done inside...

Video: Interviews from Monday's practice

Doc Rivers, Jason Terry, and Brandon Bass talk after Monday's practice.

Your Morning Dump… Where the Celtics reserves are in an adjustment period

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “We thought it would be a lot smoother, but it’s not always as easy as you think it will be. It’s good that we’re going through it. We’ll look back on this journey and say it’s something we had to go...

Recap: C’s hold on to win ugly one in D.C.

Celtics came-out of the gate on fire tonight. KG was hitting shots early & often, the defense was focused & guys had a spring in their step. Rajon was distributing the ball well from the jump- he had 5 assists in the first quarter alone to help get the C’s out to an early 26-12 lead after 1. The Wizards bench then got Washington right back into it behind Kevin Seraphin’s...

Celtics get first win over Wiz-kids but what does it mean?

The Celtics beat the Washington Wizards last night, but it was not a feel good story.  Boston ran out to a 16 point lead, then just went through the motions and were fortunate to escape with a win. Is it time to push the panic button? Of course not.  Last season the team had no chemistry issues, but still crawled out of the gates with an 0-3 start.  This year with essentially...
