OKLAHOMA CITY -- Before the Charlotte Bobcats took the floor Monday, coach Mike Dunlap told his players to not listen to the outside noise. Even though the team had already matched its season win total from the season before, he didn't want the Bobcats to start believing the hype about how good they were. Dunlap's words turned out to be prophetic, as the Oklahoma City Thunder drilled the Bobcats 114-69 at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Kevin Durant had an efficient night for the Thunder (11-4). In only 26 minutes, he finished with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting. He also racked up six rebounds, four assists and four blocked shots without touching the floor in the fourth quarter. Russell Westbrook added 12 points and 11 assists for Oklahoma City, which had five players reach double digits in scoring. Jeffery Taylor paced the Bobcats (7-6) with 10 points. No other Charlotte player reached double figures, as the team shot a season-low 29.1 percent from the field. Oklahoma Cit...

Russell Westbrook Throws Down Monster Dunk, Struts Down Baseline During Thunder’s Blowout Win Over Bobcats (Video)

Russell Westbrook gets his fair share of blame when things go wrong for the Oklahoma City Thunder, but everything was going right for them on Monday night. In a blowout win over the Charlotte Bobcats, Westbrook earned some well-deserved accolades for himself by throwing down a monster dunk at the end of the first half. To punctuate the slam, the point guard even did a little high...

Charlotte Bobcats Give Fans First Ever Relief Orgasm

I’ll start off with a full confession: I didn’t see the second overtime of the Bobcats win against Washington, because I had recorded the game and only gave myself a half-hour buffer afterward.  But even if I had been watching the game live I might not have seen it, because I probably would have passed [...]

Charlotte Bobcats get dismantled by Oklahoma City Thunder

There are blowouts, and then there are routs. And then there are lambastes. And then there are trounces. And then there are clobberings. Also thrashings. Whichever one of those you find to be most devastating, that's what the Thunder did to the Bobcats last night. As you can see if the photo above, OKC led by 54 at one point in the third quarter. 54! This game ended up at...

Bobcats Buried Up to Their Necks in Sand, Beaten to Death with Shovel

“We kind of know that OKC is a test for us, we failed it miserably,” coach Dunlap said after the Bobcats were beaten by a number so huge that it needed to be written in scientific notation.  He’s right about Charlotte failing miserably.  This was their first test against a traditional powerhouse, and it went [...]

Thunder Storms Past Bobcats 114-69

Possibly the only bright spot of the night... When you're hot, you're hot. When you're not, you're the Bobcats playing the NBA Finals runner-up Thunder. This was a nightmare of a game to watch. My oldest son said there was no point in watching and that the Bobcats were going to lose. I explained that in order to write a game recap, I had to watch. He suggested...

Back to Earth

Come on back down Bobcats fans.  We got some stuff to talk about. Hello Bobcats fans.  Before everyone blows last night’s loss completely out of proportion, I feel that I need to share a few things with everyone.  This is done to keep everyone, including myself, calm.  We have to be realistic about this team.  They are better than last year.  Make no mistake about it...

Bobcats-Hawks Preview

While the Charlotte Bobcats have shown significant improvement this season, there weren't many positives to take away from their last game. Things aren't about to get much easier with another matchup against the surging Atlanta Hawks up next. The Bobcats conclude a three-game trek looking to bounce back from their worst loss in franchise history Wednesday night against...

Day 26: Where Metta World Peace Gets His Groove Back

Line of the Night: Kevin Durant (3.33 WARP) currently sits at the top of our player rater by a huge margin, averaging 1.44 wins/week this year in 9-cat leagues compared to the second best player, LeBron James, at 1.10 wins. And I can see why. Last night was at least the third line of the night performance from Durant so far this season as he led the Thunder to an overtime win over...

Thunder 120, Rockets 98

OKLAHOMA CITY - It was supposed to be a homecoming for James Harden. After being traded to Houston right before the season started, he made his first appearance back in Oklahoma City Wednesday.
