It was another close loss, another mile during which the Celtics started by crawling for the first lap and never could pass the leaders. The Celtics fought and scrapped and finally rebounded the basketball, and there were moments Doc Rivers would like to see repeated, like when Mickael Pietrus went on a late shooting spree to help keep Boston in the game. But Thabo Sefolosha and Russell Westbrook took turns draining 3-pointers in the final minutes, and all that was left was Boston’s fifth straight defeat.Boston’s effort wasn’t to blame on this night, and that was part of what made the loss so disappointing. There was no blaming tired legs or a lack of intensity. The Celtics simply got outplayed. On their home court, the Celtics are now 3-4. They still haven’t beaten a team with a winning record. They miss more layups than a blindfolded birthday boy who just spent 12 rounds with the dizzy bat. They make turnovers at the worst times. They spot teams a dozen or so points almost every ...
BEST OF MAXIM
The city of Boston, Massachusetts has never been the easiest city to call home for professional athletes. Between the expectations set by fans, the media, and the professional sports organizations they play for, there is a high level of pressure for athletes to perform well when the word “Boston” is stitched onto the front of [...]
Monday will prove to be an interesting evening for Celtics fans and for one former Celtic. A reunion of sorts? Perhaps. And the Celtics can use anything to insert some positive vybes into what’s been a pretty negative season thus far. Here’s what the rest of the nation is talking about… Gary Washburn, Boston [...]

The Celtics welcome Kendrick Perkins back to the Garden for the first time since that tragic day when he was traded to the Thunder. The Celtics...
In a nationally televised game, the Boston Celtics will attempt to snap their four game skid and notch their first win versus a winning team this season. Oh! And did I mention we will be welcoming Kendrick Perkins back to TD Garden as well? The Celtics Late Night Show crew will host CLNSRadio’s Celtics Postgame [...]
After every game, we'll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player's overall value.
Paul Pierce: The 21 points were great, the 6 turnovers were not, neither was the 5-12 shooting. But he was drawing fouls and he he was producing more than he has been. On a back-to-back night, there's something to be said for that.
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
And that, in a nutshell, is the story behind the 2011-12 Celtics. Garnett, the linchpin of one of the best defensive teams in NBA history over the past four seasons, can't get off the ground, and it...
Something to think about today before tonight’s game: February 16th, 2011. That was the last time Kendrick Perkins played a basketball game in Boston. Coincidently (or maybe not), that was the last time the Boston Celtics actually looked like the Boston Celtics. Now, exactly 11 months to the day that Perkins played his last game [...]
On Monday January 23rd, Glen "Big Baby" Davis will make his return to Boston for the first time since being traded to the Magic. But will Baby's return garner a tribute video, similar to the "Welcome Back Perk" piece that graced the TD Garden Jumbotron at the Martin Luther King day match between Oklahoma City and Boston?
Davis was not a starter like Perkins...
Listen Maria Menounos, your Boston Celtics fandom has been proven but no self-respecting person from Medford (MA) can justify her actions at the Golden Globes. Showing up in a dress that is more akin to the Broncos' orange than anything from New England, Menounos (who is totally hot of course) took time on the red carpet to Tebow. The **** is that Maria? That's unacceptable...
