After having his seventh knee surgery of his career, Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy is back on the basketball court once again. After choosing to take the year off after his sixth one, it seems as Roy is going to give it a go once again. Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune reports on Roy's status.Brandon Roy, who had Nov. 19 surgery on his right knee, said he didn’t consider retirement when it was decided he’d have surgery.Roy took part in Thursday’s practice, which doesn’t mean much. The team did little more than shoot. When asked about the possibility of retiring permanently after yet another knee injury, Roy responded with the following.“No. A few people asked me that, and I don’t pay attention much to the media. I don’t really read that stuff. But I don’t know where that could have come from. But no, I never thought about walking away. It was, for me, just do I want to go through another procedure or do I want to play through it. that was more my question than walking away.”Despite it being a non-contact practice for him, it was encouraging to see him running and shooting with his teammates once again. There is no timeline for his return as of now, and when he does return, he probably (and should) receive much less minutes. He was reportedly spending a lot of time in the weight room as well to strengthen his right knee. How can anybody NOT root for this guy? His passion is there, his potential is insanely high, and his dedication is second-to-none. If anything, Brandon Roy deserves to have a comeback in this league, even if its just as a good bench player, after all he's been through.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
