The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed forwards Chris Johnson (8.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg) and Mickael Gelabale (6.5 ppg) for the remainder of the season, and waived forward Lou Amundson – who has been openly anticipating the move.
According to Ray Richardson, Pioneer Press:
The Timberwolves have signed center Chris Johnson and forward Mickael Gelabale for the remainder of the season and released forward Lou Amundson, Wolves president of basketball operations David Kahn said Friday morning, Feb. 8, at the team’s shootaround.
“Both played very well and deserved to stay,” Kahn said of Johnson and Gelabale. “The option was to let one or both of them go, but there’s something to be said for continuity. Since they were here and acquitted themselves well, there really was no reason to shift and do something else.”
