Turn On The Knicks:
On a night where New York honored the 40th anniversary of the 1973 NBA Championship team, the current Knicks did their best to prove that their own championship aspirations are legitimate.
The Knicks extended their season-high win streak to 11 games, sinking the Milwaukee Bucks 101-83 in another memorable night at The Garden, but things were not as easy as the score might have indicated though. It took a 42-point third quarter to subdue the Bucks, who held a nine point halftime lead before Carmelo Anthony’s hot hand ignited the Knicks as a whole.
A different Knicks team emerged from the tunnel after an inspiring halftime ceremony. Brandon Jennings caught fire briefly at the beginning of the third, but going head to head with a surging Anthony was asking too much. Melo caught fire, shooting 7-9 from the field with two treys in the period as his fire spread throughout the rest of the team. After hearing whispers that the Knicks were better off without him, Carmelo Anthony has quieted that talk by catapulting his game to a level not seen around here since the days of Bernard King. His recent 131-point explosion against the Heat, Hawks and Bucks brought back memories of some of the greatest offensive performances ever by a Knickerbocker. Below...
Any attempts to doubt the legitimacy of the New York Knicks recent winning streak sound nothing short of idiotic by this point. The Knicks went into Oklahoma City in an enormous game for both teams in what was a potential NBA Finals preview and pulled out their 12th straight victory, 125-120. They have now hit 50 wins for the first time since 1999, basically wrapped up the Atlantic...
Teams may want to watch out for the New York Knicks come playoff time. With a 101-83 win over the Milwaukee Bucks Friday night they have won 11 in a row!
Carmelo Anthony has been getting a lot of the attention--at least of late--with the tear that he has been on. Friday night was no different either as he scored 41 points; it's the third time in a row he has scored at least...
Here are three observations from the Atlanta Hawks' 95-82 loss to the Eastern Conference's No. 2 seed, the New York Knicks, on Wednesday night:
1. Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith controlled the game from the tip.
Anthony, who has been on a ridiculous tear during the Knicks' current 10-game winning streak, made the first basket of the game which was not a problem for...
