Pierce, KG skip game in Boston

Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will wait until the regular season to play in Boston. The two former Celtics will skip the Brooklyn Nets' preseason game in Boston on Wednesday, as expected. Pierce had said since the pair was acquired over the summer that he didn't want his first game back in Boston to be an exhibition. The first regular-season meeting between the teams in...

Paul Pierce doesn’t want Deron Williams to return until he’s 100 percent

The Knicks may at some point this season get to the point where they’re playing at the same level or better than the team was last year when it finished with the second best record in the Eastern Conference. But the lack of frontcourt depth is likely to cause some trouble at least in the early portion of the season. Amar’e Stoudemire is unlikely to be ready for opening night...

Paul Pierce is coming back to Boston! To eat.

While Paul Pierce will not be playing in Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets in Boston, he will be back in town. From Netsdaily.com: Pierce talked with Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News and confirmed that he will not be playing in Wednesday night's preseason game against the Boston Celtics -- neither will Kevin Garnett -- but he did say he will be making...

Pierce, Garnett hope to lead Nets on title run

Paul Pierce has seen it happen. He played on one of those teams that started as potential and turned into potent, the 2007-08 Celtics winning 66 games and an NBA championship in the first season after Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen joined him in Boston. Now Pierce and Garnett play for the Brooklyn Nets, whose roster is even more accomplished - and certainly more expensive - than those...

Celtics-Nets Live: Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett Will Rest for Regular Season, Delay Boston Homecoming

8 a.m. ET: Paul Pierce’s favorite haunts in Boston may want to set an extra space for him on Wednesday. Those are the only places the former Celtic is likely to make an appearance on Wednesday. Pierce and Kevin Garnett will not suit up for the Nets’ preseason game against the Celtics. Pierce will not even step foot in TD Garden, he told reporters this week. “We’re not playing...

29. Paul Pierce (Brooklyn Nets) Paul Pierce a.k.a The Truth spent his best years with the Boston Celtics. While he is no longer with the Celtics I look for Pierce to want to return to the NBA Championship but first he needs to show his team and the NBA that he still has some Truth left in the tank. 2012-2013 Season Stats: 33.4 mpg, 18.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 4.8 apg 28. Brook Lopez (Brooklyn...

Celtics need patience during rebuilding phase

When the Boston Celtics parted with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in a blockbuster trade, they were left with a huge rebuilding job focused on three areas. Those are offense, defense and patience. Throw in the departure of coach Doc Rivers and the arrival of NBA neophyte Brad Stevens as his replacement and the 17-time NBA champions face a bleak future. Pierce and Garnett are with...

Jason Terry, not Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett, to face Celtics in Boston on Wednesday

Terry spent the 2012-13 season with Boston before heading over to Brooklyn in "The Trade" The Brooklyn Nets haven't played since last Thursday (a home win vs the Miami Heat) and don't play again until Wednesday (in Boston versus the Celtics). However, that doesn't mean new developments and news surrounding the team stop in any way. The much...

Brooklyn Nets to sit entire starting five in Boston tonight

We've known for a long time that Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett had no intentions of wasting their highly anticipated return to the Garden during the preseason.  It looks like rookie Head Coach Jason Kidd has decided not to give them any preferential treatment over his other starters, Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, and Joe Johnson.  From Tim Bontemps, who covers the Nets for the...

The NBA's new "rivalry" between the Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat is a farce

The NBA and the media are trying to play up the new "rivalry" between the two-time champion Miami Heat and the new-look Brooklyn Nets. LeBron James made a few comments last week about Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett (as well as Doc Rivers) leaving the Celtics, a year after ripping Ray Allen for doing the same thing. Despite the fact that the circumstances were not exactly...

Your Celtics Life week in review... 10/20/13

This week was probably a bit emotional for many Celtics fans, as our current Celtics roster traveled to Brooklyn, where former captain Paul Pierce had to play against his old team for the first time. As bizarre a sight it was for Celtics fans to see The Truth in anything but green and white, it was probably much weirder for Pierce himself as he lined up against his old team. Pierce...
