As the dog days of summer arrest us and we eagerly await the dawn of a new season, we here at Celtics Town would like to take a look back at Boston’s 2011-12 season and recap some of the most memorable games. Honorable Mention: Boston Celtics (29-22) vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (25-28)Date: March 30, 2012Location: Target Center, Minneapolis, MNFinal Score: 100-79Key Players: Kevin Garnett (24 points, 10 rebounds), Paul Pierce (21 points, 9 rebounds)Top Plays: 1:01 (Rondo alley-oop to Garnett), 1:27 (Brandon Bass, drive and vicious slam)Rundown: The C’s, who had been rolling since the All-Star break, took down the Timberwolves easily. The Wolves were without rookie phenom Ricky Rubio and forward Michael Beasley, although many within the Timberwolves organization may have considered the latter a plus. Garnett dominated Kevin Love in Garnett’s old stomping grounds, momentarily putting to rest the idea that anybody besides himself could be the best power forward in Minnesota’s franchis...

There have been several articles on the USA basketball team and the fact that there are no Celtics on the team. The Celtics' stars were pretty much beat up at the end of last season and even if one of them wanted play for team USA, they needed time to heal and I just don't see how they would have been able to. And I doubt that USA basketball was interested in recruiting...
One underrated aspect of Danny Ainge’s offseason manna from heaven is that, just like last year, he managed to stock the roster with quality human beings who are likely to form a cohesive locker room and maybe even help several elderly women cross the street. Jason Terry, Courtney Lee, Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger and Chris Wilcox make a second unit that will have considerably...

We’ll offer speculation on the role each player has to play, and where they’ll be in the rotation as we look towards the upcoming season. If you missed the last column in this series you can check it out here. It’s inevitable that at some point every...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

In posting the links the past few days, I've noticed that there hasn't been any Celtics news in the Boston media. The blogs still keep churning out posts, but as far as NESN, CSNNE, the Globe and Herald, we have entered that portion of the off season where we can go several days without any real news from the team. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, however. Instead...
July 17, 2012 – Jason Terry, aka JET, signed with the Boston Celtics for the MLE (mid level exception), 3-years, circa $5,000,000 per season. Terry is best known as the 2008-2009 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, and a key member of the Dallas Mavericks 2010-2011 NBA Championship team.
Jason Terry attended Franklin High School, in Seattle, Washington, where he led...
Pretty funny vid about us Celtics fans. I'm sure we all have said something is this video at one point or another. It's good to laugh at yourself every now and then.

Five years ago this Tuesday on July 31, 2007, the Boston Celtics acquired power forward Kevin Garnett from the Minnesota Timberwolves for Al Jefferson, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff, Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, and two first round draft picks. The 7-for-1 … Continue reading →
