Tracy McGrady is popular in China, but probably not popular enough to pull this off.
McGrady, who arrived to great fanfare in China as he continues his basketball career overseas, appears to have spruced up his sneaks with a nice picture -- of himself.
Not even Stephon Marbury, who found the adulation he had always been missing in the NBA when he played in China, would go that far.

Tracy McGrady has only been in China for about a day now and he’s already made a huge splash. There was the video of him being greeted by thousands of fans. Now there is video from his first practice with Qingdao DoubleStar. The video is pretty much what you can expect Tracy to do a lot this year. Use his size for easy layups and dunks.
