It sure was good to get a win in this one and just as good to see the Captain back on the court. There's no use criticizing the Pistons, their fans seem to do enough of that. I feel bad for them because I've been there as a Celtics fan. Most remember their championship teams and now are hitting bottom. Some fun comments. Of course there are the recurring Boston is old and Pierce wheelchair comments. I hope you enjoy this first winning edition of Comments from the Other Side...... Pistons 1st win. Boston is too old If Pierce is out I think Boston wins in a close game. If Pierce plays I think Boston wins big. KG is going to look 10 years younger tonight. This is Bostons last shot this year, I felt like they were too old LAST year The ghost of Brian Scalabrine will lead the Celtics to a victory. Seriously though Boston will beat us whether Pierce plays or not. We're going to get destroyed Pistons seem to always play very good against the Celtics Pierce is ...

Thoughts I thought – Celtics pick up their first win

Paul Pierce's return to the line-up was the big story for the Celtics against the Pistons Thoughts I thought Paul Pierce’s return was easily the most important thing these Boston Celtics needed to finally get into the win column. It was clear from the get go that Paul Pierce was trying to be aggressive and prove that he was ready to return. He got to the basket, got himself...

Are You Concerned About the Celtics' 0-3 Start?

The Celtics' championship window may have been closing for the past couple of seasons, but if the first three games of this shortened season are any sign, that window is about to come to a crashing close. The C's will play their home opener on Friday night at TD Garden against the hapless Detroit Pistons, and it will likely present Boston's best chance at a win thus far...

Boston Celtics 96, Detroit Pistons 85

The Celtics shot 52.2% from the floor and they were up 86-64 after three quarters, so the Pistons never really mounted much of a challenge.  Jermaine O’Neal shot 7 of 9 from the floor last night as he led the way for the Celtics with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocked shots.  Ray Allen (17 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists and 1 steal) and Brandon Bass (17 points and...

Paul Pierce Returns, Celtics Win

Perhaps all the Boston Celtics needed was their best player. Losers of their first three games this season, the Celtics welcomed back Paul Pierce and then welcomed themselves to the win column with a 96-85 victory over the Detroit Pistons. In his debut, Pierce had 12 points, five assists and four rebounds. He hit half of his eight shots from the field and both of his free throws...

Celtics 94, Wizards 86: Rondo, Garnett too much for Washington

I imagine Rashard Lewis wakes up each morning, admires his grizzly goatee in the mirror, thanks God (or Otis Smith) for his $118 million contract and then spends 45 minutes throwing darts at a board adorned with photos of Nick Young, Andray Blatche and Jordan Crawford. It took just 18 seconds for Young to launch his first step-back, contested jump shot of the night. Blatche continued...

Pierce returns, Celtics beat Pistons for first win

Jermaine O'Neal scored 19 points, Paul Pierce added 12 in his season debut, and the Boston Celtics ended a dismal start to their season with a 96-85 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

Being at home, having Pierce help Celtics get in win column

Unquestionably, there were semblances of doubt and insecurity that surfaced after the Celtics limped home Wednesday night after essentially having their pride snatched away, balled up, and discarded by the New Orleans Hornets. The Celtics spent the next 48 hours trying to disregard their disappointment at being winless.

Rondo's triple-double leads Celtics over Wizards

Rajon Rondo had 18 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds while Kevin Garnett had 24 points and nine rebounds to lead the Boston Celtics over the winless Washington Wizards 94-86 on Sunday night.
