PLAYERS: Chris Wilcox
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
Boston Celtics forward/center Chris Wilcox returned to full-contact practice activities Sunday. Wilcox injured his hand on December 18th in Chicago, and this is his first practice since then. While Wilcox probably will not return to action within the next couple of games, his debut from injury draws near. His hand is still bothering him, which is why Sunday's practice is a way to see how ready he is. Wilcox's return will help afford the team more big man depth, and basically just give Doc another weapon. This team is almost getting 100% healthy, and hopefully it will stay that way. Wilcox Quotes: "I'm going to get out there and just see what I can do," Wilcox said before the afternoon session. "The other day I got out there and did some shots and layups and stuff like that with the team. So, today, try to get more active, just take it one day at a time." "Look, I'm back in action," Wilcox joked while palming the ball. "So, li...

Kevin Garnett: The most well rounded player in NBA history

Kevin Garnett is on the precipice on joining a very exclusive club. A club so exclusive in fact, that when he joins it, he will be it's only member. With 32 more assists, Garnett will pass Sleepy Floyd for 50th on the NBA's all-time assist leader board (5,144). This is important, because Garnett already ranks in the top 50 in rebounds (12th - 13,566), points (17th - 24...

The Wonderful Simplicity of Courtney Lee

Courtney Lee has all the makings of your average player. He has never had a PER over 13 (League-average is around 15). He has hovered around league-average efficiency throughout his entire career. He always had a rep of a very good defender, but certain stat heads said he was merely average. All of these things may or may not be true. But one thing is for certain. I love him on this...

Celtics rise to #13 in ESPN power rankings

Dana Barros wore #13 in his second stint with Boston. ESPN's weekly Monday edition of the Marc Stein NBA power rankings is out, and the Celtics have moved up  four more spots from last week, now at #13.  Looking at the teams above them, one could argue Boston should be as high as #9 this week.  The C's torched #12 Portland on Nov. 30th, just handled the #11 Rockets on...

Celtics Back on Track with 5 Game Winning Streak

The Boston Celtics are soaring back up through the NBA rankings after a five game winning streak that can be described as nothing short of “Simply Amazing”. A week ago things were not looking good for our Celtics squad. They returned beat up from a bruising west coast road trip. They lost games they easily could have won!Their defense was lagging. Those following the team were...

Courtney Lee Turns Effort Into Offense as Celtics Stretch Win Streak to Season-Long Six Games

BOSTON — Courtney Lee saw Hakim Warrick running out in front of the pack, with nothing but open court between the Bobcats forward and the hoop, and thought to himself: I’m faster than this guy. Just as Warrick went up for a would-be dunk, Lee, as he has many times this season for the Celtics, sprinted in and slapped the ball away. It was not a game-changing play in itself, since...

Good enough: Boston Celtics beat Charlotte Bobcats 100-89

The Celtics don’t blow bad teams away.We know this by now. It has been the case since 2008 when the Hawks inexplicably took the Celtics to seven games in the first round of the playoffs. For whatever reason, whether it be motivation or something else, Boston just doesn’t blow out very many teams. Instead, they grind things out, lose a few games that they shouldn’t lose, and...

Celtics 100, Bobcats 89

Rajon Rondo scored 17 points with 12 assists and 10 rebounds on Monday night to lead the Boston Celtics to a 100-89 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats. It was Rondo's third triple-double of the season and the 26th of his career, including playoffs. Paul Pierce scored 19 and Avery Bradley added 16 for Boston, which won for a season-high sixth consecutive game. Kevin Garnett...
