Kevin Garnett clowning on TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager must be the newest running joke between the two of them. In the past year, Kevin Garnett asked Craig Sager if he has “ever been in a barfight?” and numerous times over the years he has told Craig Sager to either stop wearing or “burn” the suits that have made Craig Sager who he is over the years. So when Craig Sager cozied up next to Kevin Garnett on the Eastern Conference bench last night to get an interview with the Boston Celtics lone All-Star, he had to know that KG would say something about his attire. At the end of the interview comes the moment we were all waiting for as Kevin Garnett tells Craig to “stop wearing those suits” when he does interviews. This is followed up by KG’s “honey-nut cheerios”-esque remark by saying that Craig Sager looks like a “Christmas ornament”. Classic KG. The underrated part of the interview is the opening. I can’t tell if KG decides not to pay attention to Craig Sager or whether he was actually really invested in the basketball game, but the “I didn’t hear you Craig, say that again” was pretty funny live too. The best part is I think KG really was super invested in the game. Minutes earlier, the entire East bench was hooting and hollering as Jrue Holliday threw down a dunk. I feel like they actually did care what was going on, and knowing KG’s competitiveness, he probably was.
