The Boston Celtics continue to struggle in the middle of the Eastern Conference.
A recent series of missteps by temperamental point guard Rajon Rondo has done nothing to elevate their cause.
In their 95-94 overtime loss to Philadelphia on Friday, Rondo flubbed what should have been a game-winning scenario.

As CLNSRadio’s resident Sneakerhead (even though I despise that term), I couldn’t help but notice Rajon Rondo’s choice of footwear so far this season. Rajon Rondo is under contract to wear the products of Nike Basketball, and at times their subsidiary Jordan Brand. Last year he regularly wore the Nike Zoom Hyperenforcer and the Nike [...]
After much ado was made last night about Kevin Garnett not grabbing a single rebound in 23 minutes of play, he playfully went on a rant in front of reporters.
"You know what, I’m looking for the statistician around here. And when I find out what he looks like, we might have some problems," joked Garnett. "I had a rebound in the first quarter. That’s bull---...
Here are the full highlights of Rajon Rondo's 16 point, 13 rebound, 14 assist triple double from Friday night in Philly. Rondo also chipped in 3 blocks and 3 steals for good measure.

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“I should have taken the lay-up,” Rondo said. “But I tried to make a plant and just slipped.”
Said Garnett: “I thought he had the lay-up. It was just unfortunate. I was indecisive. I should have been more...
Following the Boston Celtics 92-79 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, Kevin Garnett was upset that his rebound streak, that began in 1997, was snapped. When asked about the last time he didn’t get a rebound by a reporter following the game Garnett responded, “I’m looking for the statistician around here. When I find out what he looks like, we might have some problems...
According to Lakers beat reporter Dave McMenamin, the Los Angeles Lakers were watching the Celtics-76ers game in the locker room before their game against the Thunder tonight and were impressed by Rajon Rondo's near triple-double in the first half (he went on to secure the triple-double in the 3rd quarter). Dwight Howard chimed in that "the game just comes easy to him:"...
Here is a full video containing highlights from the win yesterday against the Philadelphia 76ers. In a win, Kevin Garnett scored 19 points on 9-11 shooting.

How can you not love Kevin Garnett. Although I wouldn't be surprised if he actually reviewed the footage for that rebound he claims he had in the first quarter. Box score says otherwise.
Kevin Garnett doesn’t always need to grab rebounds for the Celtics to win. They beat the Sixers 92-79 even though their center didn’t snatch a single rebound. It was the first time since 1997 that happened. Paul Pierce contributed with nine assists and Jeff Green had 16 points off the bench. Larry H. Russell Picking Up The Pieces for the Boston Celtics … And It Ain’t Pretty Is anyone else getting concerned with Doc Rivers and these ‘moral victories’ when the team loses games in places like Milwaukee and Philadelphia? Paul Pierce and the Celtics were losers on Friday night
Rajon Rondo had a triple-double by the time the third quarter was over, but you would not have been able to tell from his post-game comments.
“I should have took the layup,” said Rondo after he missed a game-winning opportunity slipping while taking a jump-shot. “I tried to make a plant and just slipped.”
As an aside...
Celtics were up four at the half but after a lousy 3rd quarter, fell behind by as much as eight points. Rajon Rondo showed why he's clearly the Celtics' best player. His all-around game becomes contagious and he nearly had a triple-double early in the second half (he'd achieve it later in the 3rd quarter). But the Celtics comeback, which momentarily gave them...
Rajon Rondo and Jrue Holiday lead the Eastern Conference in assists and had no trouble racking them up the last time they met.
The point guards will match up twice this weekend when Rondo's Boston Celtics and Holiday's 76ers begin a home-and-home set at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday night.
Boston's Rondo leads the NBA with 12.8 assists per game while Holiday is averaging...
The Celtics bounced back after a heartbreaking one point loss in OT in Philly last night to dominate this game from start to finish. The Sixers never led in this game and the Celtics led by as many as 21 points. The Sixers made a run in the third quarter to cut the 20 point half time lead to 8, but the Celtics responded and went on a 7-0 run of their own to hold the Sixers off...
The Boston Celtics had it going on against the Sixers on Saturday night.
Boston shot 53 percent from the field and held Philadelphia to just 39 percent shooting on the Celtics way to a 92-79 victory. Kevin Garnett led all Celtics scorers with 19 points, while Jeff Green chipped in 16 more off the bench. The Sixers could not come up with an answer to the Celtics’ overall team effort...
