Anthony Morrow was apart of a sign-and-trade, that sent him to the New Jersey Nets. In return the Warriors receive a conditional 20100 2nd round pick & $2.6 million trade exception.
Morrow was a restricted free agent, & was expected to be coveted by quite of few teams. And the Nets happened to be the team that jumped on the opportunity to acquire him.
Morrow will be given a 3 year deal, worth around $12 million.
It was a tough decision for GM Larry Riley & the Warriors. They could have brought Morrow back, but thinking they have Reggie Williams, & newly signed Dorell Wright at the Small Forward positions, that it was going to be tough for Morrow to see a lot of minutes. So, they ended up doing a sign-and-trade with the Nets instead.
