Found October 08, 2013 on Celtics Life:
The Boston Celtics face off against the New York Knicks on Wednesday night, and I'm curious to see what changes will be made in the starting lineup. Overall, it seemed like the bench unit outplayed the starters in the game against the Raptors, so there's bound to be a few changes. Bench players that have the chance to be tomorrow's starters: Gerald Wallace Jared Sullinger Jordan Crawford Kelly Olynyk If the Celtics won that game, the game ball would probably have to go to Wallace. He was scoring easily, the 3-pointer was falling for him, and he also had four assists, two boards, and a steal, so he was active all over the court. This could be huge for a man who was lacking confidence last season. Even if the game is just a preseason game, any type of good game against outside competition has to make a player feel good. I was glad to see Sullinger back on the court and playing as well as he did last night. The hook shot is there, and he still puts in work on the board...

Sullinger surprised at his productive return

We have been hearing since media day about Jared Sullinger and the progress he needs to make with his weight before the start of the regular season. Sullinger did indeed look heavy last night, but he also played a great first game back. Since recovering from back surgery, Sullinger has been battling to get back into basketball shape. He has admitted to the media that he would like...

Sully acknowledges he needs to be in better shape

Jared Sullinger is a big dude. Known for having a wide frame is fine, especially when you use it to carve out room to hit the boards like Sully does. But Sullinger has acknowledged that he does need to shed some weight before the start of the season: Sullinger on trimming down his 275-pound (plus?) frame. - "I have to get in better shape." — Mark Murphy (@Murf56) October...

In the Celtics' 89-97 pre-season loss to the Raptors, Gerald Wallace was the leading scorer for the Celtics with 16 points off the bench. Underrated Stat of the Night - Raptors 10/7

Despite getting 16 points on 6/10 shooting from one of the new guys, Gerald Wallace, the Celtics lost their preseason opener tonight to the Toronto Raptors, 97-89. I watched this one in it's entirety, and I gotta say I am very excited to watch this team play this year. Now they obviously won't rise up and defeat the Heat (unfortunately) in the conference finals, but I'...

Jordan Crawford will not be traveling with the Celtics for game 2 of the preseason

#Celtics rookie Phil Pressey getting in some extra shots after practice today in advance of expected extended effort tomorrow vs. NYK.— Scott Souza (@scott_souza) October 8, 2013 Jordan Crawford won't play tomorrow. Celtics-Raptors Postgame Videos of Avery Bradley and Jared Sullinger

AB was aggressive at the defensive end with 3 steals, and despite his 5-16 shooting, he was aggressive on the offensive side of the ball as well. Sullinger scored 14 points off the bench in 20 minutes of work. He also had 6 rebounds. You can follow Shawn on Twitter- @Celticstitletow Videos courtesy by Gethin Coolbaugh

Practice Notes: Crawford and Brooks leave; Bradley banged up

As previously reported, Jordan Crawford will not be traveling with the Celtics on Wednesday to play the New York Knicks in Providence. Boston will potentially be down another guard as MarShon Brooks was excused from practice. Brooks developed a headache during practice that was bad enough for head trainer Ed Lacerte to recommend he take the rest of the day off. After practice...

Comments from the Other Side - Knicks Preseason 10/9

Knicks fans are always fun.  They usually have an overinflated opinion of their team (not unlike us Celtics fans).   They usually hate the Celtics with a passion, but I guess since the Celtics are rebuilding this season and they don't see them as a threat, they were almost complementary to them at times.  They are more focused on beating their cross town rivals, the Nets...

Wrap Up on Celtics First Preseason Game

First of all, I had to wrestle with popups and installing all kinds of things to try to get a stream last night. I finally did find one where the game was archived and was able to watch the whole thing. In spite of the loss, I saw some good things and very much enjoyed watching the game. We have to remember that the Raptors, for the most part, played together last year and they...

Celtics Minute with Emily Austen for October 7

In today's Celtics Minute, Brad Stevens once again cautions us not to read too much into his lineups in the preseason. He will be looking for combinations that work and to see what players work well with others. Keith Bogans and Jared Sullinger also share that they aren't too concerned about who plays when or where in the preseason as well. I'm sure they are just excited...

What will you be looking for in the first preseason game?

Preseason for the Boston Celtics begin tomorrow against the opponent they ended the regular season with last year. The Toronto Raptors could be an underdog team to look out for next season. Their season ended on a 5-game winning streak, and they've made small but notable additions to their team such as Tyler Hansbrough, and Steve Novak. They have a promising center in Jonas Valanciunas...

Pressey earning minutes in Rondo's absence

Pressey showcased everything Wednesday night against the New York Knicks. He scored 13 points, and some of those baskets looked like he's been playing for years, and the 7 assists that he picked up had the same effect. With Rondo still rehabbing from ACL surgery and Pressey the only true point guard on the roster, there's an opportunity for Pressey to earn more minutes...
