Anytime the Celtics lose, the season is not successful, and it (pondering retirement) was very tough to think of leaving on an unsuccessful note.- M.L. Carr after losing in the 1985 Finals to the Lakers. This week in WTHHT, we remember the career of the energectic and proud M.L. Carr. As I've done in the past, as often as the opportunity presents itself, I read M.L.'s autobiography, titled Don't Be Denied, which he co-wrote with Bob Schron (note to Mrs Gene Conley, you should've co-written your book with someone!) Unlike the Conley book, this was very well-written. It's a detailed journey of M.L.'s entire life, from a child in the south dealing with segregation for his high school, throughout his college career at Guilford in the NAIA, to his experience with the St Louis Spirits of the ABA, to meeting Red Auerbach, heeding his advice of playing in Israel for a year, to coming back to the NBA and playing for the Pistons and the Celtics.

With the dust settling on an active offseason for the Boston Celtics a clearer picture of the final roster heading into the 2012-13 season is coming into view. Several key role players have left the team, either via free agency or trade, but the additions to the roster have left the team younger, more athletic, [...]
Former Celtics 1st round pick and current Rocket JaJuan Johnson issued his first public comments about the multi-player trade that sent him to Houston for Courtney Lee:
“It was a good opportunity the first year, and it was fun,” Johnson said of playing for the Celtics. “But that’s what it is. It’s part of the business. That’s something that you learn early on.
Say it ain’t so Paul. Say it ain’t so. Paul Pierce has spent his entire career as a Boston Celtic. His number will hang from the rafters one day soon. He helped bring the 17th championship banner that will hang from said rafters. Although there have been rumors in the past to the contrary, there [...]
Late last year we got a tip from one of our readers in Rome that Kevin Garnett was part of an investment group purchasing AS Roma Soccer Club. The Boston Globe later confirmed the report (didn't give us any credit, but whatever), but today the Globe is reporting that the NBA blocked KG's ownership bid.Kevin Garnett has a strong rooting interest in soccer, Chelsea and AC Milan...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
I trust that you’re feeling much better these days?
“I feel awesome. I actually feel a lot better than I did prior to the surgery. It was a blessing, and I’m doing better now.”

Hall of Fame center Arnie Risen died Saturday morning in Beachwood, Ohio. He was 87 years old. Risen had suffered from lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. His lung cancer had been in remission.
He is mostly a forgotten figure to most Celtics fans today, but in the early fifties, he was a very recognizable player to NBA fans of that generation. He played 13...
The Boston Celtics have a huge soccer fan on their roster by the name of Kevin Garnett. KG has shown his love for the game for some time now and it kind of makes sense that he ages and matures that he would want to invest in the world’s most popular sport.
Perhaps following in the footsteps of his rival LeBron James who owns a piece of Liverpool FC, Garnett attempted to put a few...
Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo may not be playing in this year's Olympics, but they're staying busy this offseason. The two Celtics are apparently in Toronto to attend the OVO music festival, an event hosted by hip-hop artist Drake in his hometown. Once of the other stars in attendance was Snoop Dogg -- a.k.a. Snoop Lion -- and the rapper posed with the Celtics players for...
The NBA blocked Kevin Garnett's bid to purchase a minority stake in Italian soccer club AS Roma.
Few players in Celtics history retain as much love and respect as Larry Joe Bird. In spite of the fact that Larry has been coach, GM and President of the Indiana Pacers since 1997, Celtics fans still see him as a forever Celtic. I've been thinking a lot about Larry lately between Lex's articles from the 1980 season over on Lex Nihil Novi and re-watching several of the...

The Celtics have a team option on Paul Pierce's contract for the 13-14 season.
Kevin Garnett could live seven lifetimes doing his best Antoine Walker impression and not spend all the money he's made in his NBA career. As opposed to Walker, he tried to take a chunk of that change he's earned and invest it into a soccer club recently. He attempted to purchase a share of AS Roma to be specific, and let that money make more money for him tucked away somewhere...
