Derrick Rose is a tremendous asset to the NBA in every single way imaginable. That's my professional way of saying I'm a huge fan of Derrick Rose; the player, the competitor, the leader, and the person. It was as devastating an injury as I can remember when he went down in the first round of these playoffs against the Sixers too. Not just devastating for his Chicago Bulls, but for NBA fans in general. You never want to see anybody get hit with an injury like that, and you certainly don't want to see it happen to a League MVP. It did though, and the reports that are now surfacing are even worse than most of us probably thought when we saw him forced to watch the rest of that Philly series from the owners suite. The AP is reporting that Rose could be out for twelve months. That would put him back at full strength this time next year, just as the playoffs are underway. I hope this doesn't end up being the case, but it sure sounds like it could be. This from that AP re...

Every Rose Has Its Mourn

Does anyone find it odd that team physicians perform surgery? I mean, maybe that’s common, but I always feel like in other sports, the team doctor doesn’t operate on the players. “Okay, boys, clear out your jock straps, we need this massage table and Miss Michigan’s knife so I can repair this anterior cruciate ligament!” In any event, Bulls team doctor Brian Cole performed...

Rose's recovery could extend into next season

Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose could miss the two months of next season while recovering from knee surgery. Rose was told by doctors to expect an eight-month rehabilitation to be back at full strength from the surgery on Saturdayto repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. It was probably, no, it was the last thing Chicago Bulls fans wanted to see in this year's NBA playoffs, Derrick Rose crumbling in mid-air in the Bulls' first round series versus the Sixers as his ACL gave way. Boom! Just like that, the Bulls' season was practically over as Chicago was bounced out of the playoffs and championship dreams were put on hold. And as if things...
