PLAYERS: Chris Wilcox
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
#Celticstalk: Chris Wilcox expected to have tests (possible MRI) performed on his back when the #Celtics return home.
— A. Sherrod Blakely (@SherrodbCSN) October 7, 2012
Chris Wilcox tweaked his back in practice and sat out both games, listed as day to day. A Sherrod Blakely tweeted that he will have some tests on the back when he gets back to Boston. Wilcox had major heart surgery 6 months ago, so it's amazing that he's back on the court already. The Celtics stated earlier that this injury isn't associated with the heart surgery he had last season. Hopefully it's minor and he'll be back on the court soon.

Rondo: This is Our Best Shot

Rajon Rondo on winning a title: "This is our best shot...If this team buys into the system the sky's the limit with the championship." — Molly McGrath (@MollyAMcGrath) October 7, 2012 We know that Jason Terry has said several times that he is pretty confident in this team and that he feels that they will win it all this year. Rondo has said that this is the best...

Celtics Close Out Europe Trip With Big 105-75 Win

The Celtics closed out their European camp with a big win over EA7 Emporio Armani Milano. The play of starters and bench alike had Celtics fans feeling very good about the upcoming season. The turnovers that plagued their first game were gone and the defense was tighter and players seem to be getting more used to playing with each other. Sully, Darko and Green all impressed...

GreenLight Madness 2012 Champion: Paul Pierce

Congrats to Paul Pierce who wins the GreenLight Madness 2012 tournament with the play of the year.  You, the readers voted The Truth’s cold-blooded three in Game 5 at Miami, as the play of the year with 75% of the votes over Avery Bradley’s block on Dwyane Wade.  Thank you all for participating in the tournament this year and enjoy the 2012-2013 season that is...

Celtics defense suffocates EA7 Milano, 105-75

It was a close game in the first quarter despite Rajon Rondo's brilliant 17 points on 7-for-7 shooting in the opening frame. Then the Celtics defense kicked in, they held the Italians to 4-of-19 shooting in that second quarter and that was pretty much the story of the game. Rajon Rondo's 17 ended up tying for the team lead with Jeff Green. Paul Pierce added 14 on 4-of...

Darko Milicic Could Bring Depth to Front Line and Other Impressions From Celtics' Win in Milan

Cross Italy off the list of countries that the Celtics hope never receive NBA expansion franchises. Turkey rocketed to the top of that list Friday, when Fenerbahce Ulker led most of the way before handing the Celtics a confounding loss in the exhibition opener. Another stinker against AC Emporio Armani Milano on Sunday might have raised some serious doubts as to whether this team...

Some Fun Odds and Ends from the Celtics

Rondo is BIG at the NBA Cares event in Milan.   That would be awesome to have that just hanging around the house.  I used to have a life sized Larry Bird in my classroom when I taught.  It was quite a conversation piece.  This is bigger than life and that would be even more fun. Milan fans showed a lot of love...... Too much at that. A lady grabbed my butt and said "romper"

One of my favorite YouTube accounts has done it again. CelticsPatriotsMan has made a nice video to get you ready for the upcoming season. It’s called “Boston Celtics Let the Games Begin 2013“. Enjoy:

David Stern: ‘I’m a Celtics Fan’

Stern followed the remark by saying, when it comes to international competition…My most important take away from the Commissioners interview with A. Sherrod Blakely, he says that the new flopping rule will be eased in.

Pics from the Celtics NBA Cares event in Milan

The Celtics didn't get to their hotel rooms until 5AM this morning in Milan, so Doc gave them the day off, but Doc and the rookies still attended an NBA Cares clinic. Here are a couple pics and you can view more on

This time Darko is ready

Darko Milicic should have never be drafted with the second pick in 2003 NBA draft. You already know the story so I will save you the time to read it over again. The fact is that he should have never been part of that first round or maybe even of the whole draft itself. Maybe one year later or maybe just not drafted at all would have been much better for all, Milicic included. At...

Video: “Let the Games Begin”

We’ve made several jokes about how the Celtics continue to use phrases like “tear their heads off” or “kill if we have to” in reference to their opponents. We’ve also observed that, as motivation, Doc keeps showing the team clips of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals as a way to get extra fire burning in the stomachs of both the vets and the newcomers.I always...

Celtics season preview

The Celtics revamped ‘Big Three’ look to build on last season’s impressive playoff run As the weather starts getting colder, with the Red Sox officially done and the Patriots still trying to find their way early on in this season, it is time for the NBA to return. At the time this was published, training camp has since gotten underway, the regular season just a few short weeks...
