As some of you have noticed, I've been updating most of the graphics for the blog and forum in preparation for the upcoming season (so exciting isn't it!?). So while I was trapped in photoshop land today, I decided to post the history of the C's logos. So here goes...

In the early years of the Celtics life they used pretty primitive logos compared to today (examples below). Still, this particular logo was pretty close to the one we see used today as an alternate logo (see below also).

Boston Celtics logo, the team behind this logo have won their 17th Championship in 2008. Zang Auerbach, the brother of Celtics head coach Red Auerbach, designed the leprechaun spinning a basketball.

However, the logo went through several of adjustment over the years. The latest version of Boston logo is the one with gold colored vest on the leprechaun itself.

The reason that the leprechaun vest was colored on the logo is to celebrate the club's 50th anniversary.

The most familiar version would be the one color with the leprechaun traced in black and green on the overall Boston Celtics logo during the era of Larry Bird.

The alternate logo of Boston Celtics, with the white shamrock wrapped with a green circle with a "Celtics" above. The alternate logo was developed base on the shamrock on the vest of leprechaun itself.
