Sacramento Kings leading scorer Marcus Thornton left Monday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a bruised calf.
Thornton had four points in eight minutes before leaving. The team said he would not return.
Thornton entered Monday's game averaging 19.0 points and 3.8 rebounds for Sacramento.

Kings' Thornton out 1-2 weeks with thigh bruise
Sacramento Kings leading scorer Marcus Thornton is expected to be sidelined one to two weeks with a deep bruise in his left thigh.
The Kings announced before Wednesday night's home game against Denver that an MRI exam on Thornton revealed a ''significant hematoma'' in his thigh. Thornton already has missed four games because of the injury.

Kings G Thornton suffers thigh contusion
Sacramento Kings shooting guard Marcus Thornton suffered a left thigh contusion in Sunday's loss to the Orlando Magic.
Thornton was hurt when he took a knee to the thigh from Magic center Dwight Howard.
He scored only 13 points on 5-of-16 shooting in the contest. Thornton entered the game averaging 19.4 points.

Kings re-sign SG Thornton to four-year deal
The Sacramento Kings have re-signed shooting guard Marcus Thornton.

Guard Marcus Thornton has re-signed with the Sacramento Kings, according to his agent, Tony Dutt.
A source with knowledge of the deal told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard the deal is for $40 million over five years.
