Nick Johnson injures calf, could miss all of Las Vegas Summer League

Nick Johnson was supposed to be one of the best players to suit up on Houston's summer league team this year, but it appears he may not see the court at all. According to SB Nation's Rockets blog The Dream Shake, Johnson has a calf injury that could keep him out of action for the entire tournament, a relatively significant blow for the Rockets, who'd like to see if he can handle...

Dennis Johnson's nephew makes NBA debut versus the Celtics

One pretty cool footnote from last night's game was that Rockets rookie Nick Johnson made his NBA debut versus his uncle's former team the Celtics. DJ's nephew was drafted by the Rockets with the 42nd pick in this June's draft. Would be cool if he partook in the DJ tradition of taking a dribble per every season he was in the NBA before each free throw. Anyone else remember that?

Video: Doug McDermott Plays Nick Johnson In Ping Pong At The NBA Rookie Transition Program In Newark

The NBA’s star studded rookie class is spending time in Newark for the league’s Rookie Transition Program. While some of the activities have probably been pretty sobering, including Antoine Walker telling his story of losing his $100 million in career earnings, tonight the players got a chance to kick back and have some fun. Houston Rockets guard Troy Daniels has been posting...

Nick Johnson is the Rockets’ only rookie . . . good

Houston’s Summer League representative in Orlando was nothing. Literally it was nothing. Clint Capela joined the team in Las Vegas a week later. He was not expected even to sign, stashed away in Europe as the Rockets cleared cap room to make a run at big-name free agents. This was exactly why the Rockets sent a bare bones squad to Orlando that week. No one was expected to have...

Celtic great DJ's nephew, Nick Johnson, proving that he belongs

It has been a rough off season for the Houston Rockets and General Manager Daryl Morey. First there was the questionable move to not pick up Chandler Parsons option. Parsons would have made less than $1 million in 2014-15 but instead signed a three year $46 million dollar deal with the Mavericks that Houston didn’t match. Then there was the decision by Chris Bosh to stay in Miami...

The Houston Rockets did not have much to do in the draft, but they did manage to get one of last season's most exciting college basketball players in Arizona's Nick Johnson.
