Rockets hope team meeting sparks prosperity
Different folks have different views about the effects of players-only meetings.
Are they useful?
Well, at least it means the players care.
"Here we can communicate with each other," said center Samuel Dalembert, who called a players-only meeting Saturday at Toyota Center. "I've been on teams where we can't even talk to somebody. On this team everybody...

Dalembert remembers horror of quake
Samuel Dalembert stepped off the plane and barely recognized the land where he grew up.
Two frantic days after a magnitude-7.0 earthquake rumbled across his native Haiti on Jan. 12, 2010, the veteran NBA center returned to the Caribbean nation and could hardly absorb the chaos and horror.
Victims missing limbs lying helplessly in the littered streets. Children covered in blood...

Dalembert reports to Rockets' camp
Samuel Dalembert is a realist, and equal to his defensive might and rebounding prowess, the attitude he brings to the Rockets is of value.
The Rockets coveted Nen only for the free-agent center to re-sign with the Nuggets. They traded for Pau Gasol only for NBA commissioner David Stern to void that three-team agreement between the Rockets, Lakers and Hornets. Dalembert had been...

Samuel Dalembert signs with the Rockets
Samuel Dalembert has signed a two-year deal with the Houston Rockets, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Sam Dam likely becomes the Rockets' starting center. This is great news for Dalembert's fantasy prospects.
He's not stuck Sacramento's crowded front court (Hickson, Cousins and Thompson), and I'm guessing he'll average around 30 minutes in Houston....

Samuel Dalembert: ‘I’m Interested in the Rockets’

Dalembert: Joining Heat 'would be fantastic'
Samuel Dalembert is quite a volunteer. The center already has spent about 1 million for relief following the January 2010 earthquake in his native Haiti and plans an initial donation of 2 million to 3 million for a sports academy he's building outside the capital of Port-au-Prince.
Soon, the Miami Heat might have a basketball volunteer in Dalembert. The team desperately needs...
