The Houston Texans tenth NFL season was the first time they have earned a playoff berth and Houston’s first home NFL playoff game since 1993. Although it was short lived there are many positives to take away if you are a Texans fan. The Houston defense allowed the fourth-fewest points in the league compared to the fourth most in 2010 under new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. Linebacker Conner Barwin’s 11.5 sacks led the team and free agent acquisition Jonathan Joseph came away with four interceptions but caused opposing quarterbacks to think twice. As the Texans look forward to the 2012 NFL draft there are many different directions they could go. The Penalty Flag’s Mike Presley has the Texans selecting Alshon Jefferey to compliment Andre Johnson; Round 1, Pick 26: Alshon Jeffery WR South Carolina: There were so many concerns about Jeffery heading into the combine that he was one of the players guaranteed to have a draft night fall. His slide ends at 26 as he gets to go play opposite of Andre Johnson in Houston.
