Well, that was quick. Nnamdi Asomugha’s short-lived career with the San Francisco Forty-Niners is over. His release is not entirely surprising considering his job has been in question since the beginning of training camp. But for a cornerback who at one time was the best at his position in the entire league, this is a large fall from grace. Not only was he cut by the 49ers after...
The San Francisco 49ers made a lot of news in the off season when they signed Nnamdi Asomugha after he was released by the Philadelphia Eagles. Many fans wanted this pairing to occur two years earlier when Nnamdi was considered to be the best cornerback in the NFL. A lot has changed since then. This is proven by the news today that the 49ers have waived the former all pro.
The San Francisco 49ers have activated WR Mario Manningham from the team’s Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List and CB Eric Wright from the Reserve/NFI List.
Manningham originally signed with the 49ers on March 22, 2012. In 2012, he played in 12 games, and recorded 42 receptions for 449 yards and one touchdown, before sustaining a season-ending knee injury at Seattle on...

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the 49ers will release CB Nnamdi Asomugha when they activate CB Eric Wright.
After being waived by the San Francisco 49ers in order to make room for WR Mario Manningham and CB Eric Wright. I expect a short time away from football for the 10 year veteran.
Several teams in the league are struggling with the cornerback position and I look for quite a few to make a strong push for the shutdown corner.
The New York Giants could be in high pursuit for Asomugha...
The news just keep getting better and better for the 49ers.

For those that are concerned that his wife, Scandal star Kerry Washington will have to shoulder the finances alone, fret not. Asomugha is getting $4M this year from the 2011 deal he signed with the...
The San Francisco 49ers will be getting some help at the wide receiver position soon. Mario Manningham is set to be activated for their next game against the Carolina Panthers. I spoke to him a few weeks ago and he was very excited about getting back on the field. He told me that he was targeting this game for his return with a big smile on his face. His eyes lit up when he spoke...
Eight games are in the books and the San Francisco 49ers find themselves with a record of 6-2 and having won their last five games in a row. They have done so in impressive fashion scoring at least 31 points in those games and overcoming a little bit of a lull early in the season as well as injuries to both the offense and defense.
The 49ers have also relied heavily on the run...
Nnamdi Asomugha's meteoric fall from his days being considered a top cornerback in the NFL prior to signing with the Eagles in 2011 continued Monday as he was released by the 49ers.Â
Once upon a time Nnamdi Asomugha was considered a top-five cornerback and the centerpiece of the Philadelphia Eagles "Dream Team" spending spree in July 2011.Â
Fast forward to November...
Aldon Smith spoke to the media for the first time since rejoining the 49ers Tuesday, with a look of excitement and relief to have the last month behind him. The team won all its games during his absence, and he hopes to regain what made him one of the most feared pass rushers in the NFL.
Going to have to call Oliva Pope ASAP to save him.
