He didnt practice this week due to a hamstring injury and is listed as doubtful on the injury report, but 49ers defensive tackle Ray McDonald said he expects to play Sunday against the Redskins. Of course, McDonalds oddly optimistic outlook is in keeping with coach Jim Harbaughs general secrecy when it comes to giving out injury information. Given McDonalds lack of participation in practice it seems likely that hell be replaced in the starting lineup by Ricky Jean Francois in Washington. FB Moran Norris (fibula) is questionable. CB Tramaine Brock (hand), WR Michael Crabtree (foot), CB Chris Culliver (shoulder), WR Braylon Edwards (knee), S Dashon Goldson (knee) and CB Shawntae Spencer (toe) are probable. Throughout a half-hour joint interview late last week, Anthony Davis and Mike Iupati repeatedly finished each other's sentences. Barely two years after they met at a college football awards ceremony, they call themselves brothers.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is going back to his hometown to play a game for the first time since being drafted. Davis, who attended the University of Maryland, will have about 90 friends...
This week is a possible test on the road for the 49ers. I say “possible” because I’m not really sure what team the Redskins are going to field tomorrow. It’s unclear who Mike Shanahan has faith in anymore. Washington started high atop the NFC East but they now sit in the middle and they are falling fast as the Eagles seem to be catching fire and the Giants are returning...
