There are often some gems to be unearthed from coach Jim Harbaugh's press conferences. One occurred last week when a reporter asked him about potential off-field rules for his players for Super Bowl week. When Harbaugh said, "Yeah, we'll have a schedule. We'll have rules." When asked whether he would share those rules with the media, Harbaugh said, "No. I don't think they apply to you. Do you want a curfew? Are you going to have a curfew?" When a reporter responded, "I need rules," Harbaugh said, "Yeah, I think that's a good idea. Protect the outside world from the media and protect the media from the media, yeah. We could come up with a few." --49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick often makes sure to credit the team's offensive line when asked about the success he had this season after taking over for Alex Smith. For good reason. It often seems that offensive lines are only talked about when they struggle. Ofte...

The reason behind Jim Harbaugh’s sharpie necklace

Jim Harbaugh has worn a red sharpie around his neck for the last two years. But, first things first. “I take offense at you calling it a necklace. It’s a whistle,” Harbaugh said on Monday. “A coach should go to practice with a whistle and I just clip a pen on it. It’s really not complicated at all.” Now that we got that covered the next logical question would be the reason...

Jim Harbaugh refers to a popular social networking site as ‘The Tweeter’ (vid)

Jim Harbaugh doesn’t understand all this highfalutin internets hogwash, consarnit! One way to demonstrate to the world that you have no idea nor understanding of what something is or its impact on the world, it is by placing the article “the” in front of the name of it when there is no need for its inclusion. What can really drive the point home that a person might be out of...

Niners arrive for Super Bowl with a smirk

Jim Harbaugh stepped to the podium, smirked a bit, and greeted his first news conference as a Super Bowl coach. ''We're super happy to be here,'' he said Sunday night as his NFC champion San Francisco 49ers arrived in the Big Easy for the big game. ''I think this team has the best focus on unity and winning I've ever been a part of.''

Jim Harbaugh Adds Dash Of Kaepernick To San Francisco 49ers Recipe For Success

Scott Kacsmar’s prediction of 10 wins for the 49ers did not work out, but his reasoning did. Find out what drives Jim Harbaugh’s success, and how San Francisco became more title-ready in 2012.

Harbaugh Brothers stupid ‘fact’ of the day

Just in case you were unaware, John Harbaugh and Jim Harbaugh are brothers. They are also the head coaches for the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers, respectively. Their teams are going to play one another on February 3, 2013 in Super Bowl 47. Until then, we are going to provide you with some stupid piece of information about them to keep you up-to-date. ‘Fact’ of the...

Column: Super Bowl brothers like no others

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TIM DAHLBERG AP Sports Columnist John Harbaugh had just finished answering the masked man in front of him when a caped crusader from a children's network swooped in to ask how he really felt about his brother. ''I think that's a very provocative question from Nickelodeon,'' the Ravens coach said, not bothering to hide a smile. &...

49ers land in New Orleans, look for normal week

With 6:57 showing on local clocks Sunday, the National Football Conference champion San Francisco 49ers made a nationally televised touchdown at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans and deplaned at the west cargo ramp to begin a week of preparation for their Super Bowl XLVII battle against the Baltimore Ravens on Feb. 3. Their arrival was as casual as quarterback...

Jim Harbaugh confident Smiths ready to apply heat

NEW ORLEANS -- San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh doesn't seem particularly worried about outside linebacker Aldon Smith's sack drought heading in Super Bowl XLVII. Smith finished second in the NFL behind Houston's J.J. Watt with 19.5 sacks during the regular season, but hasn't logged one since Week 14. Part of his failure to get to the quarterback could be...

The Chicago Ties to Super Bowl XLVII

You know what would be really cool? For the Chicago tie to the Super Bowl to be that the Bears would be in it. You know what’s not really cool? Reality. The Bears are on the outside looking in. Instead of preparing for an epic battle in New Orleans, most players are probably busy handing out Super Bowl party invites. And even though some of those players are living it up in Hawaii...

Some Hot Harbaugh on Harbaugh Action

Once the Baltimore Ravens knocked off the Denver Broncos and the possibility of a Peyton Manning versus Tom Brady AFC Championship was eliminated, the next best option for the Super Bowl immediately became a Baltimore-San Francisco match-up. In the AFC Championships second half Joe Flacco looked very Tom Brady-esque. Anquan Boldin shed years off his [...]
