In the pantheon of NFL injuries, it probably ranks below Ronnie Lott And The Severed Pinkie, but its still enough to give one pause: Delanie Walker still cant feel part of his face. This week, the 49ers tight end said he severed nerves on the left side of his face as a result of the broken jaw he suffered on Dec. 24 in a win at Seattle. Walker still has some isolated numbness as a result of the injury, which, he said, doesnt affect him on the field (or his eating, for that matter). Hes been told that area could remain numb permanently if he doesnt regain sensation within the next few years. The left side of Walkers face was completely numb when he played in the NFC Championship Game, 29 days after his injury. Im still going to play football fast, Walker said. When you think about injuries, youre going to get hurt. I dont think about it at all.

However, there has been some indication that Jenkins...

Niners' Gore ready for competition, more winning
Frank Gore doesn't much believe in being overworked. While the 49ers went to great lengths to expand their depth chart behind Gore, the team's leading rusher with 1,211 yards last season, it's not in the prideful 29-year-old's job description or genetic fiber to hand the ball off. He's not only leading by example at practice, Gore is giving younger running...
Harbaugh defends A.J. Jenkins, bashes ‘clueless’ critics
This past April, the 49ers pulled off a bit of a head-scratcher, selecting receiver A.J. Jenkins with their first-round draft pick, No. 30 overall. It’s not to say Jenkins isn’t a good football player — his highly-productive college resume speaks for itself — but many expected the club to go in a different direction.
Those who were against the pick were given some ammo during...
How Moss Can Win Your League
Randy Moss found his way back to the league this off season with the 49ers. Arguably the most physically gifted specimen to play the position Randy has the opportunity to garnish a Hall of Fame career with a ring.

49ers' Gore still driven despite accomplishments
(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) Frank Gore may stand alone among all San Francisco 49ers running backs but he's not done working.

San Francisco 49ers safety Donte Whitner scoffed at the New Orleans Saints players for having to use a bounty system in order to motivate themselves to play hard. He believes a team shouldn’t need bounties to motivate themselves.
“If you have the right type of guys in that (defensive) room, you don’t have to set bounties or pay money for guys to play physical...
49ers Never Offered FS Dashon Goldson A Long-Term Deal
On Thursday, after signing his franchise tender and reporting to training camp on time, safety Dashon Goldson replied not really when asked if the team had offered a multiyear deal during the offseason. 49ers WR Michael Crabtrees Latest Injury Not Connected To Troublesome Foot
Niners wide receiver Michael Crabtree will miss his second straight practice today, said Jim Harbaugh, who added, helpfully, that Crabtree was working through something. Asked about Crabtrees status, general manager Trent Baalke jokingly said Crabtree was working through something, but he was slightly more revelatory than Harbaugh. Crabtrees injury is believed to be to...
49ers SS Donte Whitner Criticizes Saints For Bounties
The way San Francisco 49ers safety Donte Whitner looks at it, a good defense doesn't need any extra incentive to hit hard. "It's going to come naturally. That...
