Earlier today the New England Patriots took down Aaron Hernandez’s jersey. Now the NFL has followed suit with their only apparel website NFLShop.com. According to USA Today Sports, NFL Spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed with them that Hernandez’s jersey has been removed. “We decided it was the appropriate step to take,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy wrote in an e-mail to USA TODAY Sports. As of 3:15 p.m. ET Wednesday – hours after the Patriots had released Hernandez after he was arrested at his home – three versions of the No. 81 jersey were still available for $99.99 on NFLshop.com. By 3:40 p.m., the links for Hernandez merchandise were defunct. Need NFL Tickets? The post Aaron Hernandez’s jersey taken down from NFLShop.com appeared first on Pro Football Zone.
