Alex Smith got head coach Andy Reid his first win with the Kansas City Chiefs. They beat the Jacksonville Jaguars convincingly 28-2 in their season opener. Is this the year the Chiefs make a return to the glory days of Chiefs football? It is certainly a turn in the right direction. With Smith as the team’s new starting quarterback and a head coach that knows how to win in the NFL, the question now becomes if the Chiefs have enough Indians to get the job done this season. Smith is certainly going to make a difference in Kansas City. It has been a while since the Chiefs have had a quarterback who is truly a leader on the field. Smith threw for 173 yards and 2 touchdowns today. Te Chiefs ran the ball for 120 yards and one more touchdown. The defense rushed the quarterback and hit him a total of 10 times in the game and sacked the QB, 6 times. Defensively it looks like the Chiefs have enough personnel to get the job done this season. The defense has been good for the past couple of seasons but the offense was the missing link in the equation. Now that they found their quarterback they just may have enough Indians to get the job done. We have to remember they played the Jacksonville Jaguars today and not a team that is considered an NFL contender. But I would say the Chiefs look like a much improved team this season and they could turn things around in Kansas City if they can continue to play with the confidence they played with today. As far as if they have enough Indians to get the job done, only time will tell. But they are off to a great start….

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid has been around the block a few times and knows when a team plays 16 games in a year, each game is important. Reid also acknowledged that the first game is even bigger because you're either looking down or up depending on the result. Getting off to a good start in the NFL is almost essential for success and Reid was happy his team after a...
Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles suffered an apparent quad injury during Sunday’s win over the Jaguars.
According to ProFootballTalk.com, Charles is expected to be fine.
After the game, both coach Andy Reid and Charles said Charles, who was stepped on, will be fine. A league source added that Charles will be “totally fine,” which is apparently even better than fine.
Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Tyson Jackson was rushing the passer when Jacksonville Jaguars center Brad Meester grabbed a hold of his pants and pantsed Jackson. Obviously it stopped Jackson, but it didn’t keep the Chiefs from sacking Blaine Gabbert.
Today rookie linebacker Mike Catapano was able to get his first career sack. His sack also caused him an injured finger, but the kid is a gamer and played through it. His teammate Eric Kush had a picture to show the world, how big of a gamer Catapano is. @EricKush64: Catapanos sack finger #ouch
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs scored more points in their season opener than they did in any game last season. They piled up six sacks, returned an interception for a touchdown and didn't allow the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars to score on offense.
The result? New coach Andy Reid and quarterback Alex Smith have the Chiefs already halfway toward their win total from...
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kicking a bad franchise while it's down isn't supposed to make you feel better about yourself, but we'll make an exception: Chiefs fans got so used to being on the OTHER end of blowouts over the last two years that a little chest-puffing isn't just allowed; hell, it oughta be ENCOURAGED. So many game balls that deserve to be doled out (we saw ya...
The Kansas City Chiefs revealed more than their new offense in their NFL season opener on Sunday — in more ways than one.
Last season the NFL had the Buttfumble, this year already has Da Butt.
Tyson Jackson had his pants accidentally pulled down by Jacksonville center Brad Meester while trying to rush quarterback Blaine Gabbert. The 27-year-old defensive lineman, who...
Tyson Jackson of the Kansas City Chiefs needs a belt ASAP. If anyone could make sure he wears it next week we would all appreciate it. Thanks!

Andy Reid and Alex Smith each proved that previous success means little in the what-have-you-done-for-me-lately NFL, but the Kansas City Chiefs are banking on them to help usher in a bright future for a franchise that has missed the playoffs five of the last six seasons.
The excitement is tempered for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are more...

It was one of those games where it was over almost before it began. The Jaguars looked like they would show how improved they were after they forced a blocked punt and led the Kansas City Chiefs 2-0.Then the bottom fell out.Nothing went right with the home team, allowing the Kansas City Chiefs to come into their house and score the next four touchdowns en route to a 28-2 win. Kansas City Chiefs to make the playoffs +250
I didn’t really see any value with over 7.5 (-175) on the Chiefs, but I thought it was a little strange their odds to make the playoffs were this high. The odds makers seen fairly certain they’ll win 7 and probably 8 games, but the AFC sucks. 9 wins can get you into the playoffs. The Chiefs have legitimate talent around the quarterback...
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Andy Reid era opened with a resounding victory. Gus Bradley's tenure started with a lopsided loss.
It was about what everyone expected from two teams that finished 2-14 last season.
Alex Smith threw two early touchdown passes, Kansas City's defense dominated all day and the Chiefs handled the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-2 on Sunday.
