In the Philadelphia Eagles 27-17 preseason victory over the New England Patriots, the sloppy play by the Birds got to everyone–including players and coaches on the field. A national audience saw head coach Andy Reid get into a heated argument with DT Cullen Jenkins, with neither wanting to back down on their own and needed to be separated by defensive line coach Jim Washburn.
We can’t remember anything like this happening with Reid before–both his public explosion at a player as well as a player going right back at Reid. So what the heck happened there?Reid addressed the face-off in his postgame presser. When asked what happened between he and Jenkins, he replied:
It’s an emotional game, he was fired up, I was fired up. Those things happen. Cullen’s my primary leader on the defensive line so, I count on him for a lot of things. He was upset, I was upset, we talked about it afterwards and we are okay.”
