Cowboys’ outside linebacker Anthony Spencer was fined by league offices on Wednesday for an illegal hands-to-the-face penalty on Michael Vick in last week’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the second consecutive year in which Spencer has been fined in the wake of a loss to Philly. The fine of $7,500 this week comes as the result of a first quarter play, on which Spencer almost had the sack of Vick, but instead flew by him, only managing to get a couple fingers in Vick’s facemask. Despite the penalty, the play resulted in a first down on a 28-yard pass from Vick to Riley Cooper. Last season, Spencer was fined $12,500 for hitting Vick in the head during the Cowboys’ 30-27 loss to the Eagles in Dallas. With the fine, Spencer becomes the sixth Cowboy this season to have their wallet lightened by NFL offices. Stay on top of the latest Dallas Cowboys news with NBCDFW.com.
