A person familiar with Buffalo Bills receiver David Nelson's injury says the player has a torn ligament in his right knee and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
The person provided the update on Monday after Nelson had tests a day after being injured in Buffalo's 48-28 season-opening loss at the New York Jets. The person spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the team has not provided an update.
A second person familiar with running back Fred Jackson's right knee injury told the AP that tests were inconclusive and it's unclear how much time the player will miss. The person said doctors will wait between seven and 10 days before taking further tests.
Jackson was also hurt Sunday.
