Found October 22, 2011 on Cardinals Locker:
The Arizona Cardinals are in for a tough game this weekend against the visiting Steelers.  The Cardinals have lost four games in a row.  But, the Steelers are only 1-2 on the road, so you never know.  Here is a look at the matchups in this game: When the Cardinals have the ball:  The Cardinals need to give the ball to Beanie Wells 25-30 times tomorrow if they want to beat the Steelers.  The Steelers are giving up 112.8 yards rushing per game and 4.8 yards per carry so far this year, so they can be run on.  The Cardinals are going to need to run first to set up the passing game.  If the Steelers don’t respect the running game of the Cardinals, they will blitz every single down and Kevin Kolb won’t be able to handle that.  The Steelers are going to likely double Larry Fitzgerald and dare Kolb to beat them throwing to someone else.  Early Doucet and Andre Roberts need to step up tomorrow. When the Steelers have the ball:  The Steelers have been running the ball well lately, so the fron...

The Arizona Cardinals lose Beanie Wells for a couple of weeks

The Cardinals will likely be without starting RB Beanie Wells for 1-2 weeks due to a bone bruise in his right knee.  Wells has played in five games so far this year for the Cardinals and he has carried the ball 91 times for 423 yards (4.6 ypc) with 6 TD runs.  He also has caught 4 passes for 12 yards (3.0 avg) in this game.  The Cardinals hope that Alfonso Smith steps up while...

Beanie Wells Suffers Sprained Knee

Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells was forced to leave Sunday’s game against the Steelers with a sprained right knee.  He’ll will undergo additional tests on Monday. Wells underwent surgery on the same knee last year. If Wells is forced to miss any games,  Alphonso Smith and Larod Stephens-Howling will fill in for him.

Arizona Cardinals Down 17-7 at Half

Another mostly bad half of football.  There are a number of people to blame, including in part, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb.  Notice I said in part.  People still want to blame an entire team’s problems on him.  Let’s get real.  Yeah, he missed some easy ones, but there are 46 other guys playing too.  Let’s not forget that.  So, after all said and done,...

No, the Cardinals aren’t going to bench Kevin Kolb

Ken Whisenhunt said after Arizona’s latest disappointing loss that he will examine what the Cardinals are doing wrong, and what players are doing it. Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic took the logical next step and asked if that meant Whiz was considering benching Kevin Kolb. “I’m not saying that,” Whisenhunt said. The answer is no surprise,…

Cardinals RB Beanie Wells Out 1-2 Weeks With Bone Bruise In Knee

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Cardinals running back Beanie Wells will likely miss 1-2 games with a bone bruise on his right knee. The good news is that Wells appears to have avoided ligament damage in the same knee he had surgically repaired last year. The bad news is that he's almost certain to miss Week 8. Ideally, Wells would return in time for Week 9 against...

Video: Analyzing the Cardinals' loss to the Steelers

The Arizona Republic's Dan Bickley discuss the Cardinals' 32-20 loss against the Steelers and the loss of running back Beanie Wells to injury.

Stewart Bradley has barely been on field for Cardinals

Kevin Kolb has taken a lot of the heat for his struggles in Arizona, but there are plenty of holes on the Cardinals roster. The offensive tackles are struggling.  The defense is well below average.  Some snap count numbers from Mike Sando of helps point out why they are struggling. Arizona just isn’t getting…

Pass rush is the Steelers' key to slowing Arizona's Fitzgerald

The way to stop Larry Fitzgerald is not so much by assigning Ike Taylor to him and double-covering him all game. The Steelers can stop Fitzgerald, one of the game's most dangerous wide receivers, the way they have stopped other receivers in the past -- by pressuring the quarterback, in this case Arizona's Kevin Kolb. Cut off the head, and the tail dies.
