Last week: 23 (+1) Record: 4-6 I’ve watched a lot of football, but I saw two things I’ve never seen before in the Falcons/Cardinals game this week. First, Matt Ryan won despite throwing 5 interceptions and no touchdowns, the first time that’s happened since the merger (Bart Starr did it last). Second, the Cardinals benched John Skelton despite a 13-0 lead. I don’t have any facts on that, but I’m willing to bet that doesn’t happen very often and certainly never that I’ve seen. This was also the first time since the 1993 Eagles that a team went 4-0 to start the year and then lost 6 straight (they finished 8-8). It might have been the right move though. Skelton’s play had absolutely nothing to do with their lead, as he was 2 of 7 for 6 yards at the time of his benching. He’s been horrific this year, completing 54.7% of his passes for an average of 5.9 YPA and 2 touchdowns to 5 interceptions. There were a lot of people who thought he was a potential franchise quarterback over Kevin Kolb...

Cardinals activate RB Beanie Wells

The Arizona Cardinals have activated Beanie Wells from the NFL's new injured/designated to return list, clearing the way for the running back to play Sunday against St. Louis. Cardinals Prepared To Start QB Ryan Lindley?

Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic writes that Cardinals starting quarterback job will most likely remain Ryan Lindley‘s until Kevin Kolb is ready to return from his rib injury. Arizona benched John Skelton after he was 2-7 for just 6 yards passing. Lindley didn’t fare much better as he finished 9-of-20 for 64 yards and had a fumble returned for a touchdown. “He...

Cardinals’ Daryl Washington says they can Win 6 in a Row

The Arizona Cardinals became one of the NFL’s pleasant surprises through four weeks of the season as the defeated the Seahawks, Patriots, and Eagles on their way to a 4-0 record.  However, a six-game losing streak has Arizona looking for answers, and apparently unrealistic optimism from linebacker Daryl Washington. “The season is never over until it’s over,” Washington said...

Cardinals QB Ryan Lindley Will Start Week 12

According to Kent Somers of AzCentral.com reports that QB Ryan Lindley will start at quarterback for the Cardinals week 12. QB John Skelton has been officially benched due to his inefficiency, and with QB Kevin Kolb injured Lindley gets an opportunity to show what he has to offer. That being said it is unlikely Lindley will turn things around for the Cardinals because of the terrible...

Leach talks Apple Cup, Texas recruiting

IT IS A discussion point that occurs frequently went Washington State’s football program is struggling. Some suggest that no matter what the Cougars’ record is a win in the Apple Cup against Washington at 12:30 p.m. Friday (TV: Fox) could salvage their season. Coach Mike Leach talked about that subject and recruiting during his Tuesday Pac-12 coaches teleconference.

Matt Ryan Fully Practices Friday

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was a full participant in Friday's practice. He's been dealing with a left finger issue.Fantasy Spin:Ryan suffered through his worst game of the season last weekend, throwing five interceptions and zero touchdowns, but the Falcons still won the game. Facing the Bucs' underperforming secondary, Ryan should return to top-five fantasy form.

NFL Week 12 Picks

LAST WEEK: 13-1 SEASON: 106-52-1 (67%) Def. I'm just going to say what happened last week against the Jaguars was a fluke. The Texans need this win to prove that they are still the best in the NFL. Def. I could really go either way on this one, but the Cowboys are still a better team. Because of that, I think the Cowboys will pull off the...
