The Chicago Bears front office is apparently trying to smooth things over after their decision to say goodbye to one of the most recognizable faces of the franhcise, Brian Urlacher. Urlacher was none too pleased on how things went down, upset that he didn't even receive a phone call as a courtesy. nothing... Bears chairman George McCaskey says he's still "heartbroken" over the loss, but also said he reached out to Brian after things cooled down. "He was very gracious," McCaskey said, via Chris Wesseling of NFL.com. "Brian knows how we feel about him. He's one of the all-time great Bears. He continued the outstanding linebacker legacy with the Bears." On whether Urlacher could return to Chicago: "That's up to the market and (general manager) Phil (Emery) and (head coach) Marc (Trestman)," McCaskey said. "We'll see what happens." By the looks of it, Ulracher has the chairman on his side, but the guys actually making the personnel decisions, the GM, head coach, et. al, it appears that the door may be shut for the veteran linebacker. var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
