TEAMS: Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills proved Sunday that running and stopping the run really does win NFL games, as they pounded the Kansas City Chiefs on both sides of the ball in an easier-than-it-seems-by-the-score 25-17 victory.
C.J. Spiller posted his second straight 100-yard game Sunday, going for 123 yards and two touchdowns on just 15 carries. That now gives him an NFL-leading 292 yards on 29 carries through two weeks – good for an average of just more than 10 yards per rush. The Bills ran for 201 yards as a team on 36 carries.
"They were playing a defense that allowed us to have pretty good matchups in the run game out of certain personnel groups," Bills coach Chan Gailey said. "We wanted to go take advantage of it, so that is what we did. I thought our guys were pretty physical coming off the football, and we were able to establish the run game extremely well early in the ball game."
The Bills' run defense, meanwhile, was stout when it needed to be. The Chief...

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams has something new to crunch on other than opposing quarterbacks.

Fitzpatrick, Spiller lead Bills in win
C.J. Spiller scored twice and had 123 yards rushing in sparking the Buffalo Bills' 35-17 rout over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two touchdown passes, including a 49-yarder to Stevie Johnson, and Leodis McKelvin scored on an 88-yard punt return - the second longest in team history - in the Bills' home opener. Buffalo's high-priced defense had...
Buffalo Bills beat the Chiefs, Bills fans beat each other (VIDEO)
The Buffalo Bills bounced back from their season opening defeat at the hands of the Jets with a 35-17 home opener victory over the hapless Chiefs. Of course, this being Buffalo and all, a few Bills fans decided to celebrate their team’s turnaround by punching each other in the stands. Best shots come at the 1:04 and 1:26 mark.

Buffalo Bills week two reaction: CJ Spiller carries the load in bounce-back performance
After the Bills were mauled by the New York Jets in week one, Buffalo bounced back with a huge win over the lowly Kansas City Chiefs, 35-17.
The Bills played their game, which evidently is a healthy serving of CJ Spiller, mixed with a side of Ryan Fitzpatrick. Spiller was stellar for the second straight week, rushing for 123 yards and two touchdowns. He also contributed to the...
For fans of the Buffalo Bills, there’s nothing like the home opener
From the moment the ball was kicked off, two things were clear: The Bills were ready to play and the Chiefs were not. We watched two teams seemingly headed in opposite directions. The Bills showed they could rise above a stinker and play to their talent level while the Chiefs showed they either had no talent level or had no will.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills: Five Things We Learned
1.) C.J. Spiller is a Bona Fide Superstar. The Bills raised some eyebrows when they took Spiller ninth overall in the 2010 draft despite already having a backfield that included Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson. The concerns seemed warranted after Spiller racked up just 667 yards from scrimmage (rushing and receiving) and 3 total TDs in his first 24 games as a member of the Bills....
Field Goals: Building on the success from week two
Things change quickly in Buffalo. A week ago Ryan Fitzpatrick was the worst quarterback to ever suit up and Mario Williams wasn’t worth a dime. While Fitzpatrick probably didn’t do much to reverse anyone’s opinion of him – perhaps the same is true of Super Mario for some – the Bills looked like a totally different team than the one that bounced out of New York...
B-Lo is back with big win
The Bills beat the Chiefs 35-17.
I’d like to take a moment to thank the Buffalo Bills for saving me a lot of time and money on therapy. Technically, it’s the least they could do, since they were the reason for my impending self-imposed intervention/treatment. CJ Spiller’s glorious 123 yards and two TDs, Fitz’s nerve-wracking 34 yards rushing, Leodis McKelvin’s 88-yard...

Bills, Lynch pin loss on Chiefs
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- There was a lot of head-scratching when the Buffalo Bills used the No. 9 overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft on C.J. Spiller. With Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch already on the depth chart and a roster full of questions to answer, running back seemed to be the last position Buffalo needed to address. Two games into Spiller’s third season, no one is scratching...
Week 2 Fantasy Football Recap: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills
Kansas City Chiefs – 17, Buffalo Bills – 35Ugly ugly ugly is all you can say about the Chiefs’ effort, especially QB Matt Cassel’s (304 total yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT) through about three and half quarters. Two late touchdown passes with the game already decided are the only things that saved Cassel’s fantasy day. At some point, the Chiefs have to wonder if there’s any...
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills: Hero and Zero of the Game
“Lifeless” would be the best word to describe the Kansas City Chiefs in Buffalo today.Sure C.J. Spiller is a fine running back, and has some elusiveness but the Chiefs made him look better than he is today. In Pittsburgh former Chiefs head coach, Todd Haley, had to enjoy keeping an eye on this game. While the Steelers prepared to face the Jets today, I am sure hot head Todd,...
Where Do the Chiefs Go From Here?
It looked like they had a few flaws in week one versus the Falcons, but then the Chiefs met a buzz-saw when they took on the Buffalo Bills in a week two clash in Orchard Park, NY.
