Steve Wyche of the NFL Network reported Monday night that Green Bay Packers RB Cedric Benson will be out approximately eight weeks with the dreaded Lisfranc injury. If he needs surgery, he'll be done for the rest of the season. Benson currently leads the team with 248 yards on 71 carries. After him at RB, not much to note. Alex Green follows way ebhind with 57 yards. With Benson out, it deals a huge blow to the Packers' running game, and puts even more pressure on Aaron Rogers. The Packers have not officially confirmed the injury, but head coach Mike McCarthy aknowledged that he'll at least miss next week. “I thought Cedric was really coming on the last couple weeks, I was excited about him, what he brings to the table,” he said. “Now, our younger backs will have to give us that because we need the run game. It’s important. I’m not interested in throwing it 50 times a game. So we just need to be more consistent.” After leaving Sunday's game against the Colts early, Benson was confident the injury was not serious. “I was able to walk on it,” Benson told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Guys who have had [the lisfranc injury] usually can’t.” Looks like benson is the exception.
