The Chicago Bears Corey Wootton free agent officially, that according to a tweet he sent out Saturday morning. Wootton, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on his hip on January 6th, will test the free agency waters. Crazy to think yesterday might be the last time I ever set foot in halas hall #FreeAgent — Corey Wootton (@CoreyWootton) March 8, 2014   Wootton, a Northwestern alumni, was drafted in the 4th round of the 2010 NFL draft. While struggling to get playing time in his first two seasons, Wootton began to thrive the past two seasons, recording 11.5 sacks and 54 tackles in 32 games. Corey, I think I speak for every Chicago Bears fan when I say thank you for this: Mock It! While Wootton has undoubtedly improved, he never quite fit into the Chicago Bears defense. Clearly not his fault, Corey was moved around on the line, and also played injured for much of the 2013 season. He is a very athletic and gifted player, but this could be another sign that Mel Tucker’s defense will be a modified 3-4 in 2014.   Photo: PrioritySportsBiz Author informationDanny CheskisSenior Media Editor at Sports MockeryChicago born and raised.
