It is going to be weird this season watching the Chicago Bears play without Brian Urlacher in the game, but if you can make any sort of judgement based off of preseason play they might have his replacement in rookie Jonathan Bostic. The former Florida Gator certainly gave Bears fans reason to take notice of him and forget that other guy when he put this hit on San Diego's Mike Willie Thursday night. @hoopgifs

GIF: Bears LB Jon Bostic Knocks Out Chargers WR Mike Willie

Chicago Bears rookie linebacker Jon Bostic has made his fair share of errors through the first two preseason games, but the club’s second round selection (No. 50 overall) has also jumped on the screen on multiple occasions. He made his presence felt again when he laid a momentous hit on San Diego Chargers wide receiver Mike Willie to force an incompletion in the third quarter...

Jay Cutler Tears Ball Boy a New One Because He Is Jay Cutler

Someone needs to find this ball boy and give him a hug. During Thursday’s preseason game between the Bears and Chargers, Jay Cutler acted as Jay Cutler was, but this time it wasn’t directed at one of his own offensive lineman. Instead it was directed at a ball boy who was a little behind on his duties, or so thought Cutty. Seems like Jay needs to also watch his language on...

Chicago Bears get the win, but…

It was difficult to determine if the Bears were simply that good, or if the San Diego Chargers were really that bad.  As the game wore on, it became clear it was a little bit of both. QB Jay Cutler was sacked twice during the first offensive series.  TE Martellus Bennet was taken back of the woodshed by DE Jarrett Johnson and after that, Cutler was up to his old tricks, diddly...

Chicago Bears still playing musical chairs with offensive line?

From the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs comes the tidbit that J’Marcus Webb is out at the right tackle position in favor of untested rookie fifth-rounder Jordan Mills. Earlier in the year, new Chicago Bears’ head coach Marc Trestman and offensive line coach Aaron Kromer shuffled the offensive line like a deck of canasta cards in one phase of an ongoing attempt to improve...

The Return Specialist: Dynamic Necessity to Expendable Commodity

There was a time not long ago when versatile running backs that could line up at halfback, wide receiver, and contribute on kick or punt returns had immense value to the game of fantasy football. Young Wide Receivers looking for playing time often fit the mold as well, hoping their flashy play as a return specialist would show their value to the team. Even if they were a 3rd wide...

Great News for Chicago Bears fans, William The Fridge Perry is still alive despite internet hoax that he was dead.

William Perry “The Fridge” is not dead. There was an internet hoax trying to say he was. Perry himself took to twitter and sent a tweet telling the world he also heard the rumors of his death. He wanted to tell everyone that his was still alive and doing well. It isn’t often that someone gets to be around to see how others would react to their deaths. In this case even though...

Bears hold Peppers out for second straight game

Chicago Bears Pro Bowl defensive end Julius Peppers sat out his second straight preseason game because of a hamstring injury. Peppers was expected to play Thursday night against the San Diego Chargers, but the Bears held him out again after he sat out the preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers. Peppers has been practicing off and on for about two weeks because of the problem...

All eyes on Cutler as Bears meet Chargers

The first step for Jay Cutler was a bit wobbly. Maybe this one will be a little smoother. The Chicago Bears meet the San Diego Chargers on Thursday, and all eyes will remain on Cutler as he tries to adapt to new coach Marc Trestman's offense. ''We're moving along,'' Cutler said. ''I don't think I can pinpoint exactly where we're at, but we...

Still no balance for Cutler, Bears offense

The Chicago Bears offense will stagnate under Marc Trestman if Jay Cutler doesn’t curb his all-encompassing infatuation with Brandon Marshall and start spreading the ball around in the passing game.

Bears take advantage of Chargers miscues to post 33-28 win

The Chicago Bears first team defense sacked San Diego QB Phillip Rivers three times and forced two turnovers, while Brandon Marshall and Matt Forte added touchdowns as the Bears went to 2-0 in the preseason with a 33-28 victory over the Chargers Thursday evening at Soldier Field. While the first team offense, especially  QB Jay Cutler, was shaky at times, the [...]
