Who caught your eye? Did someone stand out? Who blew it? That’s what were interested in this morning. Winners and losers. A big win for the Browns (and for Cleveland), but it was certainly a costly win as Hoyer was injured and could be down for the season. Desmond Bryant had to go to the Cleveland Clinic with shortness of breath, which is never good. WINNER: Brandon Weeden. There was plenty not to like about his performance, but he came through with a few nice drives and a couple of deep passes. He struggled early, but finished 13 of 24 for 197 yards and a score. Most importantly, he didn’t turn the ball over and put the defense in a bad spot. He handled himself well during his ‘demotion’ and should still have the locker room on his side now that Hoyer is out. Now about those five sacks… WINNER: Buster Skrine. I thought Skrine looked really impressive. He broke up several passes and was really hitting as well. That’s a couple nice games for Skrine in a row. LOSER: Barkevious Mingo. Don’t freak out on me. Mingo put pressure on the QB like he always does, and had a bone jarring hit on a receiver. I can’t overlook that the big runs by the Bills, including Spiller’s 54 yard touchdown were right over or around Mingo. Yes, he was playing in just his third NFL game. Of course he will get better. Last night however, he was the weak point against the run. WINNER: T. J. Ward. Ward got his first NFL touchdown on the game clinching pick six. He had a solid game otherwise. Alright. Your turn. Who were your winners and losers?
