Chicago Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton suffered a concussion during Friday night's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, and as a precaution, we may not see him again until the strat of the regular season. Melton, who's currently playing under the franchise tag, left in the first quarter and didn't return. "Henry has a concussion and he'll be in a NFL concussion protocol situation right now and will be day-to-day," Bears coach Marc Trestman said, via ESPNChiago.com. He ws reportedly hurt during Wednesday's practice as well, but still suited up for last night's game. Injury concerns this early doesn't bode too well for Melton, who's trying to prove he's worthy of another big payday with the Bears, or perhaps a another suitor. Per ESPN: ' Nate Collins replaced Melton with the first-team unit after Melton suffered the concussion in the first quarter. The Bears placed the franchise tag on Melton in the offseason after he was voted to the Pro Bowl last season. Melton recorded six sacks and a career-high 33 tackles in 14 games. Long-snapper Patrick Mannelly suffered a rib injury covering a punt in the first quarter. Mannelly got blindsided as he ran down the field attempting to make a tackle. He will not return. '
