IRVING, Texas With Tony Romo sidelined while he recovers from off-season back surgery to remove a cyst, Kyle Orton has been getting all of the first team reps under center for the Dallas Cowboys.
Getting in time throwing to starters like Jason Witten, Dez Bryant and Miles Austin is something that Orton admitted will help him if he's needed during the regular season.
Entering his second-year with the club, the nine-year veteran says the Cowboys have a "phenomenal offense."
"We got so many good players at the special positions," Orton said Wednesday. "Witten draws so much attention inside that these guys just get great looks on the outside. You got to pay so much attention to Jason and DeMarco Murray running the ball inside that you're one-on-one on the outside and those two guys with Miles and Dez, they're tough to cover."
