The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed safety Danny McCray after the best season of his career. McCray, a restricted free agent, was second on the team with a career-high 87 tackles as the Cowboys battled multiple injuries in the middle of their secondary. The fourth-year pro has always been a special teams standout, and was second with 18 tackles on punts and kickoffs. The Cowboys expect Barry Church to return as a starter at strong safety after he missed most of last season with a torn Achilles tendon. Dallas needs depth after waiving Gerald Sensabaugh this offseason. The Cowboys added Will Allen, a nine-year veteran, and have high hopes for Matt Johnson, who missed all of his rookie season with a hamstring injury. --- Online: and

Dallas Cowboys Re-Sign Danny McCray To One-Year Deal

NFL News: The Dallas Cowboys made Danny McCray a happy man Friday, signing the safety to a one-year, $1.323 million deal. Fantas Ramifications: While McCray did have 71 tackles in 10 games, truth-be-told he is more of a special teams player who can help out in other areas when the need is called upon. Look for him to have a solid season for his standards but he deserves to be owned...

Dallas Cowboys: 2013 NFL Mock Draft

The 2013 NFL Draft is less than a week away, and it is a fine time to roll out a mock draft for the Dallas Cowboys. The consensus feeling in my gut is a heavily offensive line focus in the beginning. But let’s get to the picks. 18. Dallas Cowboys select: Jonathan Cooper, G, North Carolina This should be a no brainer pick at 18. The Cowboys need a lot of offensive line help...

Report: Cowboys will only draft Tyrann Mathieu if he falls to the 6th or 7th round

According to Matt Mosley of FOX Sports, the only way the Dallas Cowboys will draft LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu is if he falls all the way to the sixth or seventh round.I’m hearing the only way the Cowboys would consider drafting Honey Badger is if he slipped to the sixth or seventh round. #sorrytobeblunt— Matt Mosley (@mattmosley) April 19, 2013I highly doubt Mathieu will fall...

Dallas gave Tony Romo a huge contract, now he has to perform. Cowboys schedule preview.

Tony Romo and the Cowboys missed the playoffs last season by losing the last game of the season.  This offseason, part time General Manager Jerry Jones signed Romo to a huge long term extension.  I think this decision was good for the teams cap situation and the best decision they could make at QB.  Where else are they going to go?  There are a lot of bad QB play in the NFL and...

Stephen Jones says the Cowboys will make “significant improvements”

Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told the Elf & Slater Show on 105.3 The Fan KRLD-FM that he believes his team will be much better in 2013.“Obviously, we got our eyes on not only getting them healthy but keeping them healthy,” Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. “We got some good ideas on that in terms of how we’re going to manage different...

2013 Dallas Cowboys schedule sets up nicely for a good season

This means WAR! The 2013 Dallas Cowboys schedule is out and I am all atwitter. I can hear in the distance the pitter-patter of not-so-itty bitty feet. A new season will soon be born. Oh, glorious day! I am not yet ready to roll out season predictions, mainly because free agency and the NFL draft have yet to be played out. So, don’t get pushy. We still do not know who is going to...

Cowboys' position on right tackle

IRVING, Texas The Dallas Cowboys' position on the right tackle position? It's one driven by political correctness. One driven by open-mindedness. And one driven by leverage. "I think there's some interest and prospects there,'' Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones tells us, "between what we have and what we could get.'' That "interest...

Dallas Cowboys 2013 Schedule: Predicting the Wins and Losses

For the Dallas Cowboys, hope and expectation is always high, as a new season approaches.Last year, they coulda been a contender, but - once again - they didn't make the cut.It makes one wonder how many more seasons without a playoff win, or even a playoff game, Jerry Jones can take. The 2013 schedule looks manageable for Tony Romo's boys. What does that mean? It means that...

Dallas Cowboys: Ignoring Offensive Line Woes Will Be Catastrophic

The Dallas Cowboys' free agency before the Draft is finished, but the key positions they should have signed just aren't there to see. The offensive line is horrible and horrible is quite honestly an understatement. Quarterback Tony Romo was on the run for his life last season due to the lack of protection, but still he managed to ace out 4,000 yards passing. How could the...

Most Obscure Player of 1977: Bruce Huther

It was yet another struggle to find an obscure player on a Super Bowl-winning team. I found one, though, thanks to Super Bowl XII itself. Most Obscure Player for 1977: Bruce Huther (#57). John Facenda famously said of Super Bowl XII, “It was fiercely fought, but frightfully flawed.” The Cowboys’ 27-10 win over the Denver Broncos featured a total of 10 turnovers, including...
