Now that the world is aware that Robert Griffin III had surgery to repair his torn LCL and partially torn ACL, we can move on to other topics surrounding the Washington Redskins. One of the more popular and divisive ones is that of their name, ‘the Redskins.’ It wouldn’t be a big deal if they were simply named after a potato, that would be totally fine. I actually prefer redskin potatoes. But the truth is, they have what is essentially, the most racist nickname in all of sports. On any level. There really isn’t any way to argue for it. Though the Skins claim the Nation’s Capital their home, they actually play in nearby Landover, Maryland at Fedex Field. The Redskins moved into the stadium only 15 1/2 years ago. But this isn’t stopping the mayor of Washington, DC, Vincent Gray, from trying to have them move back, with one SIMPLE caveat: “I think that if they get serious with the team coming back to Washington, there’s no doubt there’s going to have to be a discussion about that, and of course the team is going to have to work with us around that issue,” Gray said, via the Washington Post. “I [...]

  • This issue make me sick !!! We got bigger fish to fry than to worry about the name of a pro team that has been around since the early stages of the game. Crooked politics, drugs, prostitution should be delt with long before we waste energy on this subject !
