Detroit Lions (1-1) at Tennessee Titans (0-2) Before the season, I identified 5 overrated and 5 underrated teams, with the idea of betting on them (or against them) until they proved me wrong or the odds makers caught up. This served me well as I’m 10-4 this year on games involving those 10 teams (and one of those losses is because I abandoned shipped on the Bills after week 1 and picked the Chiefs last week). However, two weeks into the season, I’ve had to adapt that a little. The one thing that’s remained constant is that the Lions are overrated. They needed a late comeback at home to beat the Rams week 1 and then they weren’t really competitive in San Francisco last week before a late garbage time touchdown. The reason I thought Detroit was overrated was because of how one dimensional they are. They had a great passing offense, but they didn’t have much talent at the running back position and they couldn’t stop anyone defensively. Last year, they won just 5 of their final 12 game...

Kevin Smith Will Be Pushed By LeShoure For Playing Time

Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith will have additional competition in the Lions' backfield this week with the return of Mikel Leshoure (suspension/Achilles).Fantasy Spin:Smith received most of the reps with the first team this week and will certainly be the starter, but fantasy owners should pay attention to how the Lions use Leshoure and re-evaluate Smith's value after the game.

Detroit Lions vs. Tennessee Titans: Three Bold Predictions

This week, the Detroit Lions head to Nashville to take on the 0-2 Titans. The Lions are coming off a tough loss to the 49ers, and Matthew Stafford needs to step up his performance against a Titans team ranked 20th against the pass. The Titans, however, have had more than one tough game. Their first two weeks have been a struggle, as the offense has failed to move the ball and the...

Lions’ Chris Houston says he’s playing this week

According to Tim Twentyman of, Lions cornerback Chris Houston says he’s playing in this week’s game against the Titans. “I’m running around healthier than I was the last couple of weeks. I’m about 95 percent and I’ll be ready to go this week,” said Houston, per Twentyman.

Titans' Johnson: Blame everyone for rushing woes

Chris Johnson doesn't believe he is solely to blame for the Tennessee Titans' rushing woes. The running back said Thursday the fault lies with the offense as a whole. Johnson heads into Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions with 21 yards on 19 carries. Johnson says he is an easy target for criticism because of the running game's struggles and the $53 million extension...

Johnson: Blame everyone for woes

Chris Johnson doesn't believe he is solely to blame for the Tennessee Titans' rushing woes. Johnson, a former 2,000-yard rusher, heads into Sunday's game with the Detroit Lions having gained only 21 yards on 19 carries. ''Even when I went for 2,000, I didn't think I was perfect, but I wouldn't sit here and say I'm to blame,'' Johnson said...

Chris Johnson frustrated with Tennessee Titans offense

The Tennessee Titans have started off the season last in rushing in the entire NFL.  They have put up an embarrassing 29.0 yards per game in the first two weeks against the New England Patriots and the San Diego Chargers.  Chris Johnson has a total of 21 yards in those two game on a 19 carries.  That's just over a yard per carry. Now today Johnson openly admitted his frustrations...

McCarthy to miss 2nd straight start due to ankle

Titans middle linebacker Colin McCarthy will be out against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, his second consecutive start missed since hurting his right ankle. McCarthy hurt his ankle in the opener against the New England Patriots and has not practiced or played since. Coach Mike Munchak says Friday he hopes the defensive captain can return next week. Offensive tackle Mike Otto is...

Future of short QB’s rests in Russell Wilson

Never since Doug Flutie, has there been a quarterback come into the NFL with such an illustrious winning background out of college who was never given a true shot as a starter in Kellen Moore of the Detroit Lions. Moore came from a college career with Boise State finishing 50-3 as a starter, becoming the all-time quarterback in NCAA Division 1 FBS with the most wins. However the...

Crabtree backing up his challenge to 49ers

Michael Crabtree didn’t exactly call out his teammates before last week’s game against the Detroit Lions, but he did issue a challenge to his offensive comrades to keep up with the high standard of performance being put forth regularly by San Francisco’s rugged defense and superior special teams units. Crabtree certainly has lived up to that standard himself during the Niners’ 2-0 start.

Enemy Intelligence: Detroit Lions

This week, the Titans take on the Detroit Lions at home at LP Field on Sunday at noon. The Lions are coming off a 27-19 defeat at San Francisco on Sunday night football following a 27-23 home win against the Rams. To get a better idea of the opponent the Titans face, I watched the Lions-Rams game and then re-watched the 49ers game. After the jump, what I've seen of the...
