Lions fans had hoped to capitalize on the momentum of a 10-6 season and a playoff berth in 2011. Instead, a tumultuous off-season , full of arrests and player misconduct set the tone for what would come. The Lions finished the 2012 season 4-12 , including an unacceptable 0-6 record against their NFC North division rivals. The frustrating part of it all , was that when the Lions were at their best, they were very good. They beat playoff teams like the Seahawks and took a number of other games down to the wire. While the season was without a doubt a disaster, there still are reasons for hope. There still is the rifle-armed signal caller Matthew Stafford , who fueled the NFL's 2nd best passing offense (307.9 ypg) with his 4967 passing yards. There still is the game's most dominating WR , Calvin Johnson , fresh off of a record-breaking 1964 receiving yards.
