Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant has agreed to a year of anger management counseling that could lead to the Dallas County district attorney's office dimissing his misdemeanor family violence charge involving his mother, Angela Bryant. Bryant was arrested in July after he allegedly hit his mother in the face with a hat and grabbed her by her t-shirt.   Bryant's attorney Royce West said the deal with prosecuters was not a plea agreement. “It did not require a plea to be entered, and we still say he is innocent of any charges,” West said via the Star-Telegram.com. “But to get the issue behind him, we entered into this agreement with the district attorney. The bottom line is if Dez keeps his nose clean, and he has never been in trouble before, and if does counseling that he has already started, it will be dismissed in a year.” According to West both Bryant and his mother are satisfied with the deal and ready to move forward. “Both Dez and his mother are satisfied with today's decision,” West said. “Ms. Bryant did not want charges filed against her son. After having an opportunity to talk to people who witnessed the incident she filed an Affidavit of Non-Prosecution with the District Attorney's Office. The family always felt they could resolve this matter." NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell plans to review Bryant's case under the league's personal conduct policy.

Romo needs to continue eliminating risky play

Jason Garrett talked Monday about taking the good with the bad when you have Tony Romo at quarterback. "You're going to have some plays that you don't like, and you have to live with those, and we've had a few of those," Garrett said. "But at the same time, you have to allow for the other ones. You have to be balanced in how you evaluate it." On...

Week 11 NFL Cheat Sheet

Before the 2012 NFL season started, I picked the Cowboys to qualify for the playoffs as one of the NFCs two wild-card teams. Naturally, I heard about it. Give NFL players a forum to speak their mind and what comes out can be as good as Kate Upton’s GQ cover shoot or as bad as the current state of the Miami Marlins. Roasted Butternut Squash Sage Dip and Savory Mushroom Pithiviers: Football Foodie Thanksgiving

One of the more infuriating parts of watching the Dolphins-Bills game last night — aside of the fact Miami couldn’t get anything going after a few impressive defensive stands — was the NFL Network continually reminding people that their brand of Thursday Night Football would return in two weeks. Naming and brand are important, but there was nary a mention of the slate of Thanksgiving...
