After an embarrassing 10-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Lambeau Field and a questionable injury to Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder. One has to wonder whether Ponder has the mental and physical toughness for the NFL. The one fact from the loss is that Joe Webb only completed 11 of 30 for 180 yards, one touchdown and one interception. To put it bluntly, Joe Webb played terrible. He lacked pocket presence, pocket awareness and was woefully inaccurate for the majority of the game. The Vikings offense couldn’t get their you know what together till the second half, which was too late. Christian Ponder lit up the Packers one week prior and could have done it again in the Wild Card round, but a right elbow injury kept him out of the game.… Read more

  • Yes. He did. I would've had more respect for him if he had at least given it a shot instead of just completely quitting on team. In Webb's defense the coaches tried to make him throw the ball more and further down field than they would if Ponder were in the game. That said, Webb had better numbers than Ponder did in many games this season and it was his first snap under center in the most pressure filled game you could ask for. Not exactly fair game.
  • What do you think Bud Grant or Herb Brooks would have said to Christian Ponder? Would he even have made a Herb Brooks team? that should be the litmus test for professional toughness in minnesota.
